In Iran a woman who was accused of adultry and not covering her head, may be sentenced to 99 lashes or be stoned to death! Gee wiz! That is outrageous! Everyone has done wrong. If the people who think this is the solution to wrongs, then what should be done to them for their faults! They need some anger management treatment! If you were the judge what would you do? Isolate her for a while, put her in jail, send her out of the country,99 lashes or stoning?

For us, that is harsh since it is not based on our norms. For them, that is already a usual thing. What I wonder is since they already know that law, how come there are still people who won't obey and complain if they are getting punished. If only they had followed the law and did the right thing in the first place, then everybody happy! No punishment!

I know most would say it's inhumane, but I am a believer of punishment. I know it seems harsh, but if they get off an act that easily then soon a lot would follow. Just like how movie stars and actresses feel that they can get out of anything. Just a few days in jail or paying some sort of fine just won't cut it anymore. However, I am just appalled by the thought that it's only her who is being punished. I would have gone with their decision if the partner (who is also committing adultery) should be punished and humiliated in the same way. After all, you cannot sin or commit adultery alone.

To those who are not Muslim, yes, it is indeed extreme. This is punishment according to the Islam extremist. In such believe, it is the rule. It is meant to be harsh so that people can be deterred from getting oneself into such act. I think even moderate Muslim will view this as extreme but then again, I am in no position to comment because I am not Muslim. As a human being (a moderate one in thinking), yes, it is indeed extreme. If I were the judge, I will judge whether she perform the act or not. No one is guilty until proven. Then, if she did it, send her for counselling. Follow up with therapy sessions and probations.
