Do you think adding an instant messaging feature to MyLot would get better results for the website and for its users?

I do think that an instant messaging feature would be cool on mylot. They have a messaging system but it's more like an email style and it doesn't allow you to see if the user is currently online or not. I think that it would be cool to have some kind of icon beside each user when you look at their discussion to see if they are currently online or not; this would allow people who have the same interests to chat or maybe even discuss a topic in a more private manner. For people who don't want to be messaged, it would be cool to have an "invisible mode" so that people cannot tell if they are online or not..

That's what I'm talking about. Myspace, if you ever used it, barely came up with instant messaging and it's way cool. I like it almost as much as Yahoo messenger.

But wouldn't it make communication between users faster? I mean as opposed to posting after posting.
