In December I will reach the grand old age of 60!!!!!
When my hubby (who is 9 years older than me) reached 60 I threw a surprise birthday party for him, my daughtermade him agreat cake with Betty Boob on and we had a fantastic time.
I know that there'll be no surprise party for me but that my daughter will be making me aspecialcake.
I won't be asked what I wantshe'll design it, I am excited tosee what design she will pick - knowing her it will be great.
I bet it involves the Beatles in some way as she has strong memories as a kid of me always singing Beatles songs and despite how my musicaltastes have changed over the years she stillhas me down as a Beatles fan!!
She has just finished a first birthday cak with a lovely edible tiara on - her designs just keepgetting better, I am enthralled tosee what I get?
What design woyld you want for your birthday cake?

I have only cut one birthday cake in my entire life and I dont think anybody would bother to get me a cake now. I threw a suprise party for my husband last year and he was very excited. But I do keep expecting that someday he will throw one for me, but I think it does not register in his brain at all:-( Sigh! Well for me I would like a cake with lots and lots of chocolate in it. Does not matter what shape it is. Just the cake would do. Dont I sound desperate?:-D

Hi ya oldchem1
My mum turned 60 last year and I just bought a 6 and 0 shaped cake tin and covered them with icing and stuck on 60 candles! It was no masterpiece, not by a long shot but I think she appreciated it. It will be my 40th in March and I have no clue what anyone is going to do for me if anything. I wanted to go to Disneyland Paris with my mum and kids but none of us have valid passports so it would be way too expensive. I really don't mind what I have as a cake as it will be the thought that counts!

I know what you mean about the cost of passports, we've just booked a hoilday and I wanted to go bck to Morocco but my passports run out in 5 months and I needed 6 months on them for Morocco, It woulds hace cost us over £200 to get them changed - going to Menorca instead!!!
