Zits or Pimple and the "Joys" They Bring

You can call them pimples, you can call them zits, either way they are a pain. I was blessed with good skin (I think when God made me he saw how many health problems I was going to have and said, what the heck, I'm going to at least give her good skin!). But on occasion I get a zit. For the past couple days I've been dealing with a zit right under my lower lip - and it is one of those painful things. I'm not asking for tips to get rid of it. I want to know, and please keep it as clean as possible, do you ever get painful zits? And where is the worst place you've had them? It wasn't painful like the one I have now, but the worst place I ever got a zit was on the end of my nose. I was ten, and when I went to school I knew I was going to get teased. So I beat them to the proverbial punch and just told everyone I was doing my impersonation as a witch. You know how mythical witches always have a wart or something on the end of their nose...And that kept the teasing to the minimum.

You share a cute story here. I never had pretty skin but would occasionally get a zit on my face as a teenager. Usually didn't last long once I treated it with Noxzema which was the "in" product in my teen years. Now there are good make up products that can help cover many skin problems on the face. Once I got into my 30's and would see a zit or what looked like a zit, knew I had problems. I've had alot of problems with skin cancer, carcenoma, which is the best kind to have and very treatable. As a result of these issues, I limit my time in the sun and avoid any kind of sunburn.

Hi Ambie Pam! As a teenager I had problem skin and oh my goodness I had some doozies when it came to zits. The ones that seemed to hurt the most were ones on or around the nose, and lip! My skin has cleared up a lot, and now I only seem to break out a little bit around that time of the month but other then that my skin is in pretty good shape!

Yes, summer seems to be worse because of the heat. In winter skin get closer to dry, thank goodness.

I agree that the hotter weather in summer can make you break out more, and winter gives you a bit of a break because it's so dry.

I know how you feel. I am on medication to get rid of my zits and pimples because I break out so badly. I hate having the skin problems that I have. I think that it's because of my diet, but until I get the money to change my diet and the tools I need to do it, then the pimples will come.

I doubt I'm telling you something you don't already know, but do you drink a lot of water? That is one thing that helps clear up skin, and it's free. Obviously, that won't solve everything. I wish you luck! My sister had acne when she was a teenager. She was miserable. Even now, she's 31, and she still has some problems.

I have had those....where is the most painful? I have one right now in my hairline just above my ear. When you try to pop it there are sharp pains down the side of my head....but it is right by the bow of my glasses so it's getting rubbed when I put on my glasses or if I adjust them.

I can't say I have good skin.. but I don't have bad skin either. Mostly I get a few pimples around that time of month, and as a teen I had itty bitty blemishes all over my forehead, which was easily covered by my bangs. The only time it ever got really bad was when I was pregnant for the twins. I got them mostly on my chin, and it was like I had pimples on top of pimples. I tried everything to get rid of them, but because they were hormone related, there was nothing I could do. I think the most painful ones are the ones right inside a nostril, or on that thing in between the nostrils. Doesn't it always seem like when you get a zit inside your nose or on that thing between the nostrils, that your nose can't stop running so you have to keep hurting your pimple by blowing your nose... arg!

I do get a few pimples from time to time....But I would have to say the most painful ones have been around my mouth or cheeks to try and get too....

Although I have good skin, I would have a zit or pimple every once in a while. The most painful would be, other than my face, was my shoulder and near my behind. It was too painful that my body ached. It lasted for days. When it was gone from my systems, it left an ugly mark. Grrr! Hopefully, it won't come back to haunt me again.
