When was the last time you missed a loop in for your belt?

Missing a loop for your belt - Loops missed as you put on your belt

As I checked myself in the washroom today, I realized that I missed a belt loop at back. It just strikes me as odd because I distinctly remember running my hand around my pants and my belt this morning, and I don’t remember skipping a loop. I know it’s nothing but it just sticks out like a sore thumb when I look in the mirrors, in my otherwise cleanly pressed shirt-and-tie office get-up today. It was even funnier when I went out of the washroom and I saw a colleague who also missed a loop! We even had a funny conversation about it (thus, this discussion!), because we both had to dress up for a meeting with customers this morning. I fancy myself as a very detailed person, but I wonder if this is just a natural thing to commonly miss a simple thing as a belt loop just because it’s not very visible for us. Don’t you miss a loop when you put on your belt? Do you go on a fix it as soon as you discover it? Or do you think some of these loops are redundant anyway, so there is no need to go through all of them?

hey there bounce58, that's really funny.. your story.hahaha! i also get into this predicament and it gets awkward when someone i don't really know mentions to me that i missed a loop. that's why, whenever i go out, i check and double-check my belt if anyone of those holes got through my stringest inspection. funny enough, there are still times that i miss one lucky hole. oh well. :P

I know, right?! Even if you checked, and double-checked, there are still days that you miss a loop. And it's usually late in the day, or somebody else that has to point it out to you, putting you on the spot. Then you'd have to go and fix it. Thanks.

hi bounce, This is really funny, you must have fun discussing about it with someone in the same plight, same day same situation lol. It's weird how sometimes when we remind ourselves of something to do and then forgot to do the exact same thing! Like I see a puddle on the floor and I told myself to take special care not to step on it, and the next I know, I have landed in the middle.

Haha! This is puddle incident of yours is almost the same as the gum incident I had yesterday. I was out in the parking lot waiting for a colleague because I had to remind him something about work. I was leaning against my car and I was chewing gum. I was playing with the gum in my mouth and for some reason I dropped it (or maybe I spat it out?). Anyway, I saw the gum in front of me and mentally remembered where it was. Sure enough, after I talked to my officemate and turned around to get into my car, I stepped on it. And I even brought it on my car matting!

hi bounce I hate that and always go back and redo my belt. but let me tell you one that was really embarrassing and I mean embaring your you know what. I had to walk two blocks down the street to get some groceries and I really hurried as I had to be back home for a phone call. I walked down the two blocks wondering why it felt chilly on my back but there did not seem to be any breeze. I met a half dozen people some of whom nodded and smiled and that was all but one kid on a bike just stood there. well I pulled into the mall and a lady in a Rolls Royce pulled up along side of me.She beckoned to me, I w ent to the drivers side. She said in a low voice,." turn around please," which I did not knowing what was wrong, "your skirt hem was caught in the top of your panties and I did not want to embarrass you" I thanked her for saving me further embarrassment . I wondered why one of the six people who passed me did not have the guts to save me more embarrassment.

That is embarassing indeed! Actually, I once saw that very same thing happen to a friend of mine. Our kids carpool together so when it was time for me to pick up her daughter I saw her stand by their door as her kid made her way to my car. After the goodbyes, she turned around and saw her skirt caught up in her underwear. I was stunned, and at first I thought of saying something, but I figured that she's at home anyway and not in public so I'm sure she would have noticed it eventually.

I don't think that I have ever missed a belt loop on those off times that I wear belts. However, I guess the majority of the time you can think that I missed all of my belt loops because I don't typically wear a belt at all. That said, I think that this is something that really could lead to some great water cooler talk. If I was to realize that I had missed a loop, I think that I would take the time to fix it as soon as I'd realized that I'd missed it.

That's exactly what happened! The men's washroom in our office is just in front of the pantry where our water cooler is. Me and the other guy that also missed a loop, ended up not only talking about our 'wardrobe malfunction', but also other stuff in front of the cooler. Not that we wanted to rush back to work.

This has to be one of the most simple but funny things I have ever heard :D. Now I can't stop thinking about it; it really is pretty funny in my mind. And it is even funnier that it has become a topic of discussion XD.

It does stick in your mind. Not only as a discussion, but when you do miss a loop, you can't help but feel conscious about it as you go along doing your business and meeting other people. And it will stay there until you fix it. Am I right? Thanks for the response.
