Why cut across a parking lot?

Okay forgive me if I seem rude about this subject, but this is one of many pet peeves of mine that absolutely drives me crazy. You are in a busy parking lot, tons of cars every where you suddenly see someone cut through several cars and then speeds through to the next aisle and so on. Why? The contractors specifically put in aisles for a reason. They are their for safety and protection. Is this some way for others to get back at all the new "safety" they are taking in their lives and it is a way to rebel? Today, as I was heading to one of the local stores, I came close to being hit 4 times by people racing through the parking lot and not observing those who actually drive properly up and down the aisles as lined out. Is it that much quicker to just drive the way you want and potentially injure someone and cause damage to other property? Or is it that people just don't care about setting good examples for our kids and want to show them how not to do things?

It makes you afraid to drive. I worry about my kids now getting behind the wheel of a car and experiencing this on a regular basis. I only hope they don't pick up that bad habit. I had a friend of mine come to visit me, I actually yelled at her and her husband for cutting across a lot with me in their car. I told them if they ever did that again with me in their car that it would be worse the next time. lol

Some people may seem cutting across a parking lot as a short cut o where they are going. It isn't a safe practice to take on. it can be dangerous to both pedestrians and motorists. It isn't always expected to see someone coming across the parking lot where they shouldn;t be. it is better to follow the parking lot rules even if it takes longer to get somewhere, It is just safer for everyone.

I know. It really makes me wonder, why these people continue to do so. Don't they realize the dangers that they are putting people into. Has our world grown to the point where they don't care? I wonder how many people here in mylot are now embarrassed that they actually do that very thing, cut across the parking lot like that.

I just had to respond to this one!! I TOTALY agree with you here. Just one trip to Wal-Mart and I almost got hit 3 times, twice from people cutting across the lot. The other was a girl on her cell phone coming up the road leading to the store. Now, it is just a little bigger than wide enough for two vehicles to pass each other. She was coming down the middle. I had to come to a complete stop, and then she gave ME a dirty look for being in her way, lol! After that, people probably thought I was a looney because I was muttering to myself so much, hehe. Oh...and another thing that gets me? People who pay absolutley no attention to the painted lines on roads. I was always under the impression that if the line was solid, or double solid....you DON'T cross it!!! Gee, let's just do a u-turn in the middle of a main road and cross the center line to park on the other side or go to McDonald's!! Because you KNOW that the corner where you can legally turn is a whole 1/2 block away!!

It is so nice to know that I am not the only one out there that has an issue with that. I had it happen again today, I actually stopped got out and yelled at the guy who was shall we say 3 sheets to the wind. I think he was attempting to start his own bar. We have a lot of people that drive down the middle of a two lane road here, scares the daylights out of me, I just want to get away from them as quickly as I can.
