As we know donated kidney is practically a priceless gift of life from a donor. Would you agree ? ... but this time the extracted kidney went to waste ... http://ph.news.yahoo.com/afp/20100909/tap-health-philippines-kidney-5cc1ef8.html There seems to be a need to safely convey legitimate medical effects such as donated organs via domestic flights ... in Philippines ... What do you think ?

I seem to understand that the kidney was not packed according to what it should. I think that in all this extremelly fragile packages there must be laws protecting the cargo (the kidney in this case) and the passengers (who could have been put to risk, according to the airline because of inadecuate packaging). We need laws in the world for a lot of things. They should prevail over an airline policy. But you used the word safely. That´s it.

That's a very interesting observation. If it was really the packaging that was not compliant, perhaps the airline could be of more help if they had provisions for these perhaps? What do you think ?

I don´t think the airline should take care of that. The airline is just a carrier. It is the hospital that should pack the kidney (or whatever) according to sanitary laws. The laws should exist (I don´t know if there are such laws) and there should be a place at the airport to check that. Just as we need suitcases for our clothes, there has to be means to carry kidneys, hearts and other donated organs.

That seems to me an utter disgrace!! That kidney could have saved somebodies life and yet red tape allowed it to be lost. I know nothing about the safety aspects, but I fail to see how that kidney could of been of any harm to the passengers on the plane!!
