Time to Get Serious

Well, for the last several months the majority of my income has come from babysitting my nieces. However, they are starting daycare next week so I won't be making money from babysitting them anymore so I need to find alternative ways of replacing that money. I've been doing mylot for quite a while now and now that I'm going to have more time, I need to come up with more venues of making money. I have started writing on Helium and there are a couple of PTC sites that I've been working for a while now too. I would love to know how you all are making money online, however, don't share any referral links here as that is against the TOS of mylot.

I do a lot of the same similar things you do as well. I do however have a survey site that I am able to cash out and receive my checks weekly. This helps as I range anywhere from $17 - 50 a week. The minimum cash out is $5 but I like to cash-out every Friday so that the check is larger and I receive one every week. Although I do the great number of things it is still not enough, I have also been diligently looking for work hoping I can still do some of what I do but have a steady income.

That's great to make that much on one week from one survey site. Is the site Opinion Outpost? I belong to that but I'm not lucky enough to cash out that much each week.

That is awesome. I think that I was a member with them at one time but I've not been there for a while. I suppose that is one of the sites that I am going to have to pick back up on. Thank you so much for sharing your success with the site.

Yes it is and for some reason I have been very blessed by them since February. I get around 10 - 12 survey opportunities daily. Go back to your profile with them and update that, make sure that is kept up to date as their surveys increase by the day and sometimes your original profile may have changed and you are not automatically chosen for them as your profile may not stipulate perhaps changes that you have made with certain things you have purchased or such. I especially like when I get free product trials. I have not had to buy toilet tissue and garbage bags for months now. Yipee! Good Luck

If you check out my profile you can see some of the ways that I am making good money online. I also write for Helium, which is a great site. You truly can make A LOT of money with that site if you write well and write often! I encourage you in your writing! :)

Thank you for your encouragement. I think I need all of that which I'm able to get. Right now the earning is slow there, but I'm still working on earning that first writing star and I think once I've achieved that I will start doing a little bit better.

dorannmwin, I just had a crazy flash a couple of days ago which I thought might be of use to your discussion here. I feel that there are a lot of people that are really interested to learn the English language but just does not seem to have the means or time to do it outside their curricular or working or studying hours. Since, these people cannot make it to these language classes I was thinking how about the teachers going to them via the internet. We can always create exclusive chat rooms with our chat clients where fee paying enrolled students could attend either as a group or one-to-one personalized tuition. In this way, the students could attend your class at a time of convenience to the both of you and you earn some money at the same time. It is more like an online tuition model and as such you can work at hours and time of your convenience and asking. Hope this $0.02 worth could be of help.

There are a lot of sites already set up for this, perhaps Dora could apply to teach with one of them.

That is a great idea and since I'm a native English speaker, perhaps I could do something like that. However, I don't speak any secondary language fluently, so that could be a problem. Anora, would you mind to share with me some of the sites that do online tutoring?

I did get the message about it and I'm going to actually check it out now. We ended up very busy at the end of last week and over the weekend because it was my niece's birthday and we had to celebrate with them.

Well, I haven't had much time to be on myLot . . . but we'll see what time I have once my daughter goes to kindergarten (maybe it'll go the opposite way and I'll actually have even lesser time???). I have been thinking about writing articles for a long time, but I don't have chunk of time to do them - though I have a zillion ideas. I may even stop the survey site that I was going to at the next payout . . . there seems to be less surveys now (which is weird because initially I was getting a lot of surveys). I seriously need to clean out this place, so as someone else said, I am going to start selling our old but still good stuff. Even though Craigslist is filled with weirdos, I still like Craigslist because I can find local people fairly easily - and go on my own terms and not deal with shipping. It's be great to make some dollars while getting our place in shape!

Unfortunately we don't have a lot of things that we are able to sell, but there are a few things and you can certainly bet that I am planning on selling those few things. That said. I find that I do have a little bit more time with Kathryn being at school that I can do some writing and such. It takes me longer to write than some people though because I simply have to put it on paper first.

I do the occasional survey (the one that I actually qualify and get paid for LOL) and now and again I'll mystery shop..but even that has become hard to get. And then I'm here everyday-but I don't really count it because I'm not as aggressive at making money here-I'm really here to have "me time"

Would I sound crazy if I say that the time that I spend on here is a combination of making money and also social time. It is a great benefit that I do get a little bit of cash for the time that I do spend on here though.

hi dorannmwin I have stuck pretty much to mylot as I can make enough here each month to pay almost all my internet bill. I do do mysurvey.com as I can make ten dollars there pretty easy but I have deleted all the many surveys I was on because I would do their survey and about three fourths of the way through the su rvey we are sorry but y ou do not qualify to this survey. however we will enter you in our sweepstakes. What a laugh. So I was just spinning my wheels and not making a cent from all these sites. So I just mylot a bit harder this month.

I've been trying to consistently mylot harder every month because the few extra cents that I do make really do seem to start to add up in the long run.

I think a lot of us are in the same boat here. I'm always looking for new and better ways to earn money online. Right now I'm still doing surveys and some GPT sites. It's still not nearly enough though. I even went to the library to get some work at home books out. They weren't that helpful either. I really need to find a serious way to make a good income online by doing just one thing. Hopefully one day soon, I'll figure out what that is.

I think that it takes a lot of determination to be successful in making online. However, as I've already mentioned, it is more about fun money for me than making a full time living from home.

if you have a website, you can try writing for payu2blog.com, socialspark, payperpost, etc. actually, they can be search via the internet by using the phrase making money online. that could give you a list.

I think that with your free time you could really get focused on writing articles on Helium. I've heard from other myLotters here that they are earning quite a bit from that site. Some even have left myLot for Helium. For me, the only other thing I could recommend are survey sites. I'm enrolled in one. It doesn't come often, just once or twice a week. But surprisingly for me, if I do it regularly, it's even worth more than here.

I do have a couple of survey sites that I haven't really had the time to devote to them, so that is something that I'm trying to do now. In fact I'm actually working through quickrewards for the day as I'm going through this discussion. I am really a multitasker when it comes down to it.

For me it isn't about paying the bills, instead it is about having some extra money so we can have little luxuries in our life. That said, I really am enjoying the time that I spend online making a little bit of money.

I know that things are supposed to be getting better economically, but our family's economic situation really isn't getting better. I want to start to get ahead so that I can start to pay off more of our debt.
