I'm a huge movie buff especially with horror movies. My only problem is that I have watched so many different horror movies and I've become disappointed time and time again. My question for you guys is what is your favorite horror movie of all time and your favorite horror movie remake? I don't care if you think the movie is scary or not, I'm just looking for some movies to watch and hopefully I can get some help from you all!

There are a lot of movies I'd recommend to you. I've been disappointed by a lot of "horror" movies too..but these ones didn't disappoint me. ~Paranormal Activity ~The Descent ~The Cave ~Black Christmas (the classic, remake sucked) If I think of any others I'll let you know.

I've seen all of those except The Cave so I will have to look into that one. Paranormal Activity was probably my favorite! I can't wait until the sequel which comes out next month!

Yeah I really hope this new director does the second Paranormal Activity well, like the first one. The Cave wasn't the scariest movie, but it definitely was creepy. It had it's moments. And if I remember correctly I did like the creatures, they were bad-a. lol I tried to watch It once on tv...couldn't finish it. So maybe that would be one you'd like. (I had to turn it off after the fortune cookie part). There is a movie called P2 that my sister and I both really enoyed. It isn't a horror so much (like the other's I've listed) but it is a really good creepy movie. You can watch it instantly on your computer from Netflix, and I have it saved to my queue just so I can watch it again if I ever want to. lol Here's a preview for it-- http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809765386/video/4419802/20071008/147/4419802-1000-wmv-s.46332531-,4419802-300-flash-s.46332540-,4419802-300-wmv-s.46332516-,4419802-100-wmv-s.46332508-,4419802-700-wmv-s.46332527-,4419802-100-flash-s.46332537-,4419802-700-flash-s.46332546-,4419802-1000-flash-s.46332548-

That movie will always be a classic in my eyes, especially the ending song

Halloween the original would get my vote as my favorite horror movie. I think John Carpenter hit on something really big with that one. It has had many imitators but they all pale in comparison. As for remakes I don't really have a favorite one, at least not yet.

the best horror movie to me has to be salems lot by stephen king. it is pretty old now but as a kid scared me silly and every now and again my husband and i sit down and have a watch. the atmosphere is built up and the noises stay with you for ages after. it is a good scare of a film despite its age.

That's the one Stephen King movie I've been meaning to watch, so thank you for reminding me!
