What do you think of afterlife?

There are religious sects, if not all religious organization, that believe in the afterlife or life after death. Christianity believes on the life after death. Others have the reincarnation (since I'm not too sure so I won't say it, to prevent any misunderstanding and whatnot. Recently, my friends and I watched this movie entitled Afterlife. Well, I won't do any spoilers but the movie is about... afterlife and an all around undertaker/embalmist/deacon etc who can talk to the dead. It's an American suspense movie by the way. Anyway, that movie got me thinking. Do all the people who die accept that their dead? Or are they like us, the living, who go through different stages? Do you think these people whose occupation is connected with the dead can talk to them? Different religious groups have their views about what entails after death. WE could be in purgatory, we could be straight in heaven or hell, we could even be in the process of reincarnation or just some wandering ghost that still has some unfinished business. Whatever the views are, no one can really tell, could they? We haven't been dead yet or have been to that afterlife.

hi , i believe that when we all die we go through a process of cleansing because of our sins when we are alive , so we all go to purgatory . If our love ones pray for us often , our sins would be forgiven little by little plus all the mass you heard in your lifetime would serve as your savings when you die. all that plus the prayer for your sake would eventually lift you up to heaven . Not one individual would go up to heave directly because we all are sinners.

I don't believe any god or ghost existing, and religion beliefs and opinions are just tools those dictators in history had used to rule the mass. They don't mean anything. And that they could become tools for governing is because ancient people with a limited sicience level in a certain period of time used to think of super natural power when they encounter anything unexplainable to them. That's how religions came into being.Undenialbly it does no harm to have good religious belife like the human's spirite could eternally last as that represents good wishes of people. And their sentiments get cultivated.

It's true that rulers in the ancient time exploited religion to bring fear and power towards them. However, what you also said is true, religion does no harm to a human when it can bring peace to its spirit and make it grow. thanks for your response.
