I am taking Freddie to the vet today (a cat hospital that has good online reviews). Wednesday night when I got home he had blood on his nose. I wiped it off thinking he simply bothered Carlye one too many times. Thursday I noticed extra clear discharge from his eye and Friday morning there was more bloody discharge from his eye. So I called and got Freddie an appointment at the cat hospital because I don't trust regular vets with mr furbabies. Freddie also may have FIV which makes me worry about him more. Have you ever heard of a condition like this before, I couldn't find anything about it in my veternarian handbook. Hopefully it's nothing. I'll let y'all know when we get back.

could be conjunctivitis-it can resemble blood, but it's really a mix of yuck. that is treatable, tho it may take a while if his immunity system is already comprimised. i had an FeLV cat who had it-and it was quite stubborn in him due to immunity issues.

The vet said it was a viral infection, he gave me some medicine to give to Freddie, which Freddie is taking very well. And he seems to be getting better.

The only time I ever heard about something like this was when the eye or the eye socket got damaged - either by another animal or disease. I hope it is not too serious. Best wishes to Freddie.

It wasn't the vet said he thought one of my other cats scratched Freddie's eyes and that is why there was the unusual discharge. The vet gave Freddie a good going over and said he was fine which was a load off my mind. I am really attached to my kitties.
