As i was personally looking forward to the epic battle between Federer and Nadal, i was a bit disappointed..but all credit goes to Djokovic for stretching Federer to 5 set and eventually winning the last set 7-5 which had been the reading for federer's 2 set victories in the match(same set scores), the other 2 sets federer looked completely out of sorts...even the commentators mentioned that they had not such a thing in the past...is he on the diminshing path...only time will tell, but he is a true champ... Having said that there are 2 new people for the championship this time...and its going to an epic as it was going to be if federer was in...waiting for it, what about u??

we should give djokovic great credit because i think he like around the fifth set, he had a problem with his ankle but still manage to put wonderful shots in.. i'm a big federer fan and i could say i was disappointed that he did not make into the final but to me, he already won it all.. whether age is coming up to him, might be true since he made many unforced errors that he would not normally make in the past but still to be able perform and getting close to the final is already a great achievement and well.. once you had done it all, to get that hunger and desire going can be tough.. for this year final, i really do believe that nadal is going to do it and make a complete grand slam.. how he played throughout the tournament, he certainly deserve it.. but then again, djokovic might surprise everybody.. he already won it after all..

Federer had past his summit,it is difficult for him to win champion again.ANd it is time for Nadal to be king of tennis. He is very excillence ,and has more passion .just like Spain football team,he must get the champion of US open, and get more titles to surpass Federer .Maybe Djokovic will be next king after Nadal, but now Nadal is unique, and invincible. Come on ,Nadal!!

I'm hoping Djokovic will win but I fear it will be Nadal. I'm glad Djokovic beat Federer.

I guess I'm a bit late on this since I just saw the results of the US Open Finals and wasn't surprised to see that Nadal was the winner. I'm actually glad for him since this was the only slam that has alluded him up to this point. Now he's going down in history as one of the few who has won all four slams. But I have to give Djokovic credit too for reaching the finals. He's a pretty good player. As for Federer, his days as the most dominant player is no more. He's been slipping a lot lately.

Yes, Nadal kept his part of the bargain, but Federer could not keep his part. I think this year we are seeing the effect of age finally catching up with Federer. In matches that go to 5 sets, Federer seems to be loosing the steam. So when the match went to the fifth set, I was pretty sure that Djokovic would be able to win the match. Anyhow, let's see whether Nadal is able to complete his career Grand Slam this year. Cheers! Ram

yeah, i was also expecting a federer and nadal finals. but of course, djokovic is always a darkhorse to upset any of the two great players. nadal is set to win his first US open. so we expect him to go all out to win. federer has been on the slide losing his top ranking to nadal. but his legacy in tennis is secured. djokovic is rising. he wanted to be known and part of the elite. this is going to be an exciting finals.
