Hello folks, Pretend that you are now standing in front of a computer shop. You would like to buy a portable computer, and you've got two choices. Notebook: Powerful with high-end specification, has big screen, and also equipped with CD/DVD/Blue-ray drive. It has bigger hard drive. The battery life usually around 2 to 3 hours. The price is usually above $500. Netbook: Slim and small, low specification. It has smaller screen, no optical drive. The battery can hold on for 6 to 8 hours. Then, which one will you buy? Please let me know!

it depends on what your need, as i am a programmer, i prefer notebook cause i don't like work in small screen, etc if i just want to use it to do some office things (microsoft word, power point, etc) and online, i would buy netbook one, cause of the battery life.

I second vokial's reply. Netbook because it is portable and easliy managed. My next purchase will be a netbook but I am looking for one that has at least a minumum of 2gb of ram, upgradeable to 3. along with that you have to also take into account netbooks do not have an opitcal drive so an external dvd rom will have to be added. For comfort you can get a floppy keyboard, and small mouse. That is my plan at least. :)

You are both right. So, choose and calculate carefully before we buy. A nice opinion about netbook anyway!

As most people have already stated it depends on what you need. If you are going to be doing simple web browsing and lite desktop programs I would get the netbook. If you are looking for the full package I suggest you get the notebook.

I choose Netbook. It's slimmer and smaller than notebook. It's easier to bring it every where with you and the battery life is longer. I think it's perfect for who always carry it out. By the way, it's cheaper!

Notebook for sure. Netbook is good for a limited range of tasks, mainly internet surf and media. If you are heading for a vacation - you might find that device really handy. However if we talk of more or les regular (don't even talk of everyday) work, the choice will be for a notebook for sure. It has a bigger working area (cant stand to scroll down every 5 lines of code) + productivity. Both hands for a good notebook.

Alright! Two points for notebook! But honestly, I prefer netbook if I am going out for vacation or trip, because the battery life will guarantee me working longer. Just my taste, though. Thanks for posting.

i was with exactly this doubt before days ago, now i have a notebook, yes! christmas present :D a netbook is great to surf, carry the device around and it's light notbook is heavier, but for me as a writer i have to have the screen size of a notebook, at least 15inch otherwise i can't write and read netbooks have a very small screen so if you want to read a lot in your device that's not really good well, another difference of course: the price netbooks are about at least 100 dolars cheaper
