Metrosexuals or gays? How do they differ?

Nowadays most urban men are very conscious on how they dress and on how they look. They are meticulous with the stuffs they are using which usually are branded and expensive. They even have their vanity kits with face powder, cologne and other girlie stuffs. "High maintenance as what others called it"... I'm a bit confused, are vain men can be considered as gays? If not, how do they differ from gays? Is it only being fashionable and not really pertaining to gender preference? Thank you very much!
