Has anybody read the Green Mile by Stephen King?

I read the book and thought it was far better than the movie. The book does a better job of expressing the pain John Coffey was in and how he was ready to die. I'm not sure what the overall theme of the book was or even if there was one, but I still loved it. I highly recommend it for other Stephen King fans, but if you only read stephen King for the horror aspect then you may want to pick one of his others.

I have read the book and watched the movie 'The Green Mile'. A book is generally always better than a movie. A book can give you much more detail and depth that a two hour movie can't begin to touch. However, with that said, I think that the book and movie are so close that either one can stand alone. What I loved about 'The Green Mile' is its uniqueness, the depth of the characters, and the exploration of gifts and reality verses appearances.
