Hi, I have started my freelance writing career with writing in websites. How to find for private clients? I am writing to indirect clients and the pay is too less. I have gathered enough experience now. Would like to work for direct clients. I have experience in Academic writing too. My lotters who are into this business please advice. Just show me the path to look out for direct clients. It will be very helpful for me. Thanks to all in advance.

Hi Durgabala, you can sign up as a writer with Textbroker. If your articles are good enough to reach the top, the payment per article is quite good. Alternatively you can sign up with Guru, Getafreelancer, Elance and Odesk to get writing assignments. The rate is based on negotiation. Some clients are very demanding and require a high quality for low payment.

GetaFreelancer is Freelancer.com now, right? I hate that site. They offer very low compensations. :(

Read this site: http://www.writersweekly.com/ And do a search for Freelance markets. That should give you enough to stay busy for awhile. You have to do the research, but the jobs are out there. Good luck!

Hello. I am a freelance writer too. Writing has been my favorite hobby since my high school years, and is still is. I enjoy writing articles, short stories, reviews, and so on. There are a number of sites for freelance writing online. If you like writing reviews, you might want to take a look at the site "Review Stream". There, you can write brief reviews about a variety of topics, things you come across in the day-to-day activities, shopping, movies, restaurants, hotels, travel, and so on, and get paid when accepted. I have been writing reviews there, and have been paid.

Well, all writers find their clients in different ways, but I have found the best way to be to look in webmaster forums, since there are a lot of webmasters out there who need content and articles and all kinds of stuff for their sites. So start there, and see where it leads you. I personally got 3 huge, regular customers this way, so I highly recommend it!

Not trying to be cruel here, but more like Simon Cowell, going to give it to you direct and real. From the small sample here you really need to do some serious improving with your writing skills, or it just might be your english translation from native language. If it is just the english that needs work and you write quality native language articles that is great. But your english writing needs lots of work. Again just trying to be upfront and truthfull.

I like your frank comment, I am reading everyday to improve my language, of course English is a foreign language for me. but while writing articles I pay attention to grammar and vocabulary. This place is very informal isn't it?

Hello durgabala, When I started out as a freelance writer, I send letters to direct clients I wanted to write for. Out of the hundred or so letters I wrote, I got a few responses and I write for those companies a lot. Plus, they will refer you to others if they are happy about your writing. Good luck!

well, I think maybe you could search the website of some publishers, some of them will provide an email address for you to hand in your work. Even if they don't provide such an email directly, you can write to any email address you could find on that website in the hope of directing to the right person. I don't know if this will work out though, I'm trying to offer help here. if you think it's useless, just ignore it. Hope you get what you want soon. Have a good day!
