I like Bukisa and Factoidz. I've been paid several times by these two sites. I am also a member of Triond but earnings there is so slow. To improve your writing, just simply write and write. Try to commit on writing at least an article a day. Also, being active here in mylot will surely improve your writing. You will then be able to express yourself spontaneously through writing if you just do this everyday.

there is helium and triond. helium: you compete with others to get your articles in a higher rank. The higher the rank, the more writing stars you get. Make sure you rate other articles too. This way you get rating stars. Once you have one rating and writing star, you can start submitting articles to the marketplace. People will purchase your articles for $50 to $500. You need to do research. Triond is more of a writing site that doesn't rank articles. You get a page of your own. At first, you need to submit your article and then build traffic. Use Digg or StumbleUpon to promote your article. Afterwards, you get many visitors. I prefer triond over helium, but many would disagree. Helium pays better than Triond though.
