Tall Guys with Short Girls

I was talking to my friend who is a tall girl- always been one of the tallest girls I've known- about guys. She mentioned that she really likes for a guy to be taller than her, but its kind of hard to find a tall guy who would be interested in a tall girl. I asked her why that is and she told me all the guys who are taller than her want girls who about 5 foot or shorter.
Have you ever seen this trend?
Why do you think this is the case?

As me, It's no problem when my partner is shorter than me. Maybe, your friend has not loved anyone. When she fall in love, she'll be change :)

I know alot of people--guys and girls--who would rather have it as tall guy with shorter girl. I think it's just what people are used to seeing everywhere--from the mall to tv shows. It's the norm so that's what people want and expect. I think it's also innate that a lot girls want to feel "taken care of" by that guy and guys want to "take care of" that girl. It's all socially normal. I don't see anything wrong with it but I hope no one's automatically dismissing being with someone just because of their height or lack thereof.
