The dodo (Raphus cucullatus) was a flightless bird endemic to the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius. Related to pigeons and doves. Three meter tall and weighing 300 20 kilograms(44lb).Eat Fruits and Living on the ground. The dodo has been extinct since the mid-to-late 17th century. The first known descriptions of the bird were made by the Dutch. They called the Mauritius bird the walghvogel ("wallow bird" or "loathsome bird") in reference to its taste.

Yes, I have heard about them before, and I think it is so sad that they are extinct now. I would have loved to see one!

The extinctiun of this bird is a warning to all of as that if something is not cherished and taken care of properly then we tend to lose it. If only conservation was practiced at that time then we could now see the bird being shown in Animal or NatGeo and other animal channels not as an extinct bird but a living and healthy one.
