Maybe you would like to talk about what hidden fees you are talking about? I have several credit cards, and my bank never charges me any fees. The banks now have to get your written approval to allow a person to overdraft their account if you do not have enough, and yes that would result in a overdraft charge, but only if a person opted for that. When online banking first came out and debit cards started to come out, that was how it was they would not allow folks to just overdraft their account when they didnt have the funds and they tried to use their debit card. The banks saw that as a way to make money by slapping overdraft fees on those who would go over their balance, which to me was wrong. However there are some folks who would rather let a charge go through than and pay the overdraft fees than have their pride hurt and be embarassed that someone tells them sorry sir/mam you have been declined for this charge. Currently I put everything I possibly can on my rewards credit card and pay it off monthly and we will probably have earned close to 300 dollars for the year just by doing this.

Banks aren't there to help you. Nonetheless, they are corporate running businesses, and they are out there to make profit instead of doing charity to general public. So, if you were treated unfairly, maybe it is time to change your option, go to Credit Union, or other smaller community who value you as a customer.
