What's the weirdest or grossest thing you've ever ate? Weirdest thing I ever ate was balut. It wasn't gross though. Just taste like eggs.

We have a special viand here in the Philippines called diniguan that we serve during merienda or snacks. Whenever there is a birthday or a gathering , old people really love to prepare this food. We eat it with rice cake or puto. Cooks who can cook this viand can get as proud as they can. So I asked one time, long ago, how to prepare it. When they told me about the ingredients, I never ate diniguan again. Please don't ask me what the ingredients are...

Hi friend. It's been some time now since I last bumped into your discussion. Personally, I've been away from mylot for quite a long time on personal reasons; visiting this site only once or twice in three months. If you still can recall, I was the one who promised you that I'd greet you on your birthday (Jan. 17, right?!). That was last year, though. Sorry but I was unable to greet you on your birthday this year. Not that I forgot about it, but I was really busy looking for a job here in our place. Anyway, about "balut" which you mentioned here, I am very familiar with this delicacy since I am here in the Philippines. I do eat balut once in a while particularly when I need to be awake and work for extended periods of time. Locally, it is believed to give us stamina and stronger bones. Glad to know that you have tasted one already. See you again in the next discussions, friend. Regards.
