Our earth is sick... are you still using plastic bags? We all know that plastic bags contribute to pollution, but are you still using plastic bags? For me, i try to avoid using plastic bags... but for garbage, i still have to use it? What about you? How do you dispose your garbage without plastic bags? Especially those with liquid/leftovers that are smelly?

I have reusable bags for shopping but I sometimes don't take them in so I can get the plastic bags for use in my bathroom trash cans. I don't really see a way to not ever use plastic bags. As you said, what else are we supposed to use for the garbage?

That's a very good question. My town doesn't have a lot of options are far as recycling and my family is not great at living "waste free". I know some familes have very little trash but we aren't one of them!

We use plastic grocery bags to get rid of the trash in our bathroom, we dump the trash into a plastic bag from the trash can, we also use it to clean litter up. So we reuse before we have to throw away. I wish there were a recycle program for the tote bags, maybe someone wash them and then redistribute, but well.. I don't know that just sounds silly.

Haha... who would want to wash them? They would have melted it and reuse it but certainly not washing it :D

I still use plastic bags even if I don't want to there are still times that I can't avoid especially when going out and buying stuff, most shops use plastic bags to put our purchases in. But to help on my simple little way, I reuse plastic bags and don't just throw it immediately but for the ones that cannot be reused I recycle it.

Yes. Using reusable bags while shopping is a way to prevent shops from providing plastic bags. However, sometimes some shops still put small bags in the items purchased... especially for buns etc.

Yes, plastic bags contribute to pollution. I go grocery shopping and I use the plastic bags for home use for garbage. We need plastic bags for our garbage so I don't know how to go around that...

I think many of us really don't know how to go around that... Anyway, since biodegradable plastic bags are available, why can't we use that? Is it still polluting the environment?

I try and avoid them as much as possible. But for garbage I don't really see an alternative.
