How do you feel about buying an old house?

Today my husband and I visited a 37 year-old house. My god !! It really looks bad......a lot of people here and there, some of them are even structure defaults.........well........did you buy some old house before? How do you feel about it?

I suppose it is a benefit to handy crafty people who can afford to either tear it down and or renovate it then resell for twice of what they paid for it. I have never bought an old house as I have lucky to buy a fairly descent one. Please weigh all your options and think about the market also right now, when it comes to making this form of investment.
