I have a dog and I love him so much. He's like a bestfriend/a brother to me. We've been together for so very long and I'm afraid of losing him especially now that he's already old. Have you experienced this kind of fear- fear of losing a pet? And how much do you love your pet?

Fearing from losing a pet is a natural feeling. Do not let this feeling poison your days with your pet. Make your dog as happy as you can and enjoy your days with him. Play with him, talk to him as much as you can. Losing our pets is unavoidable. I have just recently lost my beloved dog who was ill and suffered from cancer. She lived 13 years. In her last weeks people stopped me in the street predicting the inavitable. I always answered that I strongly hoped she would have some more years ahead. Even on her last day I went to work in belief I would find her alive in the evening. Well, one can never be prepared well enough to lose a close friend. And yes, it is a great pain. Grief and sorrow are parts of our lives. There is a notion here; in English it sounds something like that: when hard times come, comes consolation, too. You will get consolation, too. Chances are your dog will communicate it to you. I have got a most beautiful consolation from my dog. First, the house is not so empty without her as I feared from. Somehow her presence is there although I have never wanted her little sole to stick on earth. On the contrary, I wished her to be happy in the other world. I strongly believe animals have eternal soles, just like human race. The following night after her decease I was just talking on the phone with my sister about her when I suddenly saw her running happily in the green grass of a vast field. She was just as young and cheerful as when she got to our house. She sent me a postcard from the Heaven with the message she has got through; she is alive and well in the green pasture of eternal happiness.

wow thanks for that! I'm very happy for your dog! Finally she got to heaven where she belongs. Yeah, it would definitely make me sad if that'll happen to me as well but if he will (my dog), gonna be in heaven, I'll gladly set him free to be happy as well. thanks! ^_^

We got so attached at our dogs, so, when their time to go come, we suffer a lot. I lost a dog a few days before last Christmas. It was terrible. I lived with the fear to lose her for almost a year. She was so ill during her last year! It's hard to see an old furry friend suffering. Nothing can replace the love of a dog, but another dog.

I always worry about loosing my pets, but I have to remind myself that it will happen and it's a natural part of nature. Instead of worrying about, just enjoy the time that you have you with your pet, create some wonderful memories and appreciate them.
