merlin?

honestly in my opinion, merlin is just a character in a story... i have read a lot of books about king arthur, and merlin, there is this one book i forgot the title that tells the story of merlin how he became a what he was, it sure looked real, but of course to be an effective writer you need to write a story that would make readers believe what they are reading.
