Helping others is good, right?

Helping others gives me great satisfaction, but when I begin to notice that I am being taken for granted, I pray and wish them well. I still help others even though some may not appreciate it. But knowing when they begin to take advantage it is time to stop and help others in greater need.

yes.its a thing id like to do most of the time cause it makes you a good person..it makes someone happy and it gives a nice relationship between you and the one you help..but if we help we don't need to expect of change.

helping others is a good thing, but there are lots of people even though you help them they don't appreciate it. Not even bother to say thank you. I always help, whenever they need it, i even offer some help too..when i am helping, am not expecting anything from them.

Helping others is always good and should be because you want to not you have to, and not expecting benefits in return. I had experiences where I helped someone and got many thanks, and also when there's nothing not a word. But, I felt good, knowing that I have done a good deed. But, depending on the kind of help... In Taiwan, people actually get sued for helping people in car accidents(wrong place wrong time). You should still use your judgement, and care.

Helping those in need. Taking advantage of you is still helping the abuser so it is good. Overlooking at things is the same as being racist.

yes your mom is right. helping is good, generally, and we should help any one in need, if we can. only if we can. we should love others AS we love ourselves...it's not just about loving other people, it should include ourselves. basically i choose the people i help. if i dont know the person, let's say, a stranger, i help them anyway...until they prove that they don't deserve my help.... anyway sometimes i can't give enough help meaning, im willing to give out, but it's just not enough.... well at least i tried, so no , i don't feel bad about it.
