A lot of people let the past dictate their future. We all have a past, but we all have a future. Our life is created and messed up with all sorts of experience. Our experiences is our lessons and it can be repaired. Keep faith on God or be confident on yourselves and don't ever stop hoping for the good for your future life. We have an opportunity for a new beginning. God makes arrangements for each of us to have a fresh start but we must be willing to let go of the past and go on. Dear friends, please share your conclusion for this. God bless you all.

Hi Saphrina, yes everyone will have a great future and this feeling itself gives us some sort of enthusiasm and encouragement in the life. This we have to think and plan our own good future. It is in our hands to some extent.

Hi dear sister, there is no use in brooding over the dark past. Future is important and we should plan for it. But future is not certain, so enjoy the present fully. Of course with the right attitude and right way.

Hi anna, yes past is past. Well said anna, present only we know but for me future also is important. Our present best plans for tomorrow may be useful not only for us but also for our family members. If we think about the our family betterment then we always go in a right way. Thanks for your sharing anna. Good night.

I agree with you for the thought of forgetting the past and looking into the future. But is it that easy to forget the past? Like a shadow, it goes on haunting us again and again. If somebody cheated us, some husband was insincere to his wife, some friend did back biting, that goes on reflecting in the mind again and again. May be slowly we may learn to forget it or put it aside, and move forward as that is only the best solution, which is good for everyone. When Vijayanth called you sister, I too feel like adopting you as my sister too. Can I, sister Jotomy?

Hi Buchi_bulla, with pleasure, you can, since you are from my place and from the same polytechnic college, yeah some are the things we can't forget, true they hunt us like our shadows, that is why i will say to people to leave everything to god and pray for your enemies if you have and forgive them, you will get some what satisfaction and your feeling will be much better rather thinking they hurt you. Yes Vijayanth anna will call me as sister. How nice of you my friend. Past is past leave everything to god and move forward. God bless you.

We need the experiences of our past to lead on the best journey into the future. We llearn from our mistakes in the past. it is up to us not to repeat them in the future. we can't change the past, but we can change its affect on how we live our lives from this day on.

Hi sender, yes this life itself is a journey and past is our experience through which we can learn lessons and make it rectify if any if possible and make lives better. Rather we can say it is repairing our life. Thanks for your opinion. Have a good day/night.

Hi Jotomy, Getting you past behind you is quite a difficult task for many people. Though you are correct in the statement - God makes arrangements for each of us to have a fresh start but we must be willing to let go of the past and go on... However, some people have a habit of forcing you to keep remembering your past no matter how well and hard you try to come over it. As an example, If there is a thief who has been in jail for some months/years and comes out, the major part of the society still believes that he would commit theft again and look suspiciously at him and his work, no matter how reformed he is now. Again, if the society is willing to accept this person to be re-formed, the cops would every time suspect this person first in case there is a robbery in his locality. I am not sure whether this happens in all parts of the world or not but this definitely happens in my country. So I believe that this thinking and outlook too has to be changed and unless this is changed, the chances of leading a life getting over the past would be quite difficult for such people. Cheers, Sids.

Hi jotomy, How wonderful that story is. I must admit that the realization of what we are doing brings can bring a change in any person who is good and has a morale. In Indian mythology too, there exist several such instances where hard core criminals have turned to sages and rishis(this is a term in hindi language to refer to saints and sages). This was possible just because they were able to realize that they were doing wrong and then gave up their immoral activities and attained great heights. In the modern world, though people have become more busy and rarely look into others' lives, in remote and not so developed places, people do have that approach. As for the thief in my reply, yes, the chances of re-starting a life is possible once the thief tries to relocate. People would not consider him to be a thief, but cops... they are a different breed. But let me also mention that some people relocate with a different image to other places but just cant go in for a change in their behavior and attitude. India has some examples recently to testify this. Have a great time, Sids.

thanks thesids see for me anything is the work is work, may be that thief's work is to theft things, he must be sincere in his work, but he must realise how much he is giving pain to other persons. Punishment in the prison is not the solution realization and make resolution is only the solution.

Hi thesids, nice example. Yeah there are chances are there for that thief. But that thief why he is residing there, why can't he go away from that place and lead a new life (a changed life) and prove himself and to the society he become good. This change is must to every person. Changing lives with the good attitude is a break for the past. There is a story about one thief in our old tales. That thief will come to a house to thief some thing, but he will hear to the discussion of the couple about their daughter's marriage and about the money how they gathered, this thief will realise by hearing to their discussion how bad he is, doing nothing but greedy to have money. He will leave that place and live in a good way also he will start helping others too. Whatever the money he looted all these days he will distribute to the poor people. So realisation is a must and make resolution. Sure who suspected or hated that thief, one day those people will that the thief become good. Simply thinking about the people about the opinion on him is really waste of time, he must take as the challenge and prove his goodness if he can. Should be courage and keep faith on god and move. Sure he can see better results. After joining to this site i feel world is so small. I even reading all the responses and discussion are very similar, i think human beings thinking is same but some are with different opinions. Especially what i saw is all the women thinking is almost same. Thanks for your nice response. Have a good day.

Letting go might not be so easy as it sounds. But it should be the first step to move on. Love the great optimism in your post. There's something we should all learn from this. Thank you. God bless you too!

One could never be at his Future if he doesn't look back at the Past. Past is a good constant reminder of our mistakes but it doesn't mean that we should still live from it because that is main the purpose of the Present. It's really hard to let go most especially if most of your happy memories are in the past. And the biggest enemy that you have to go through in moving on will always be yourself. I've had my experience on having a hard time moving on. But I am happy to have good friends around and the faith I have for God. As long as there is hope, recoveries are endless. =)

Yes, there are a lot of people that have a past including my good self! I struggle at times to forget about the past and I've even had counselling in the past in order to help me clarify and sort things out. I'm a lot better now and I just get on with doing the things I enjoy on a regular basis. Life is funny with its twists and turns! I just take each day as it comes now! I think that this is the best way to go in my view. Some of my experiences have been quite positive whilst a lot of them have been quite negative and I have treated them as lessons of life! I find that regular prayer gives me comfort and hope so I continue with that. Andrew

Our past experiences help to mold the people that we are today, and the people that we are today are the ones that are going to determine who we are going to be in the future. I do agree that it is not good for us to live in the past or dwell too much on things that happened in our past, but I definitely do not think that we should forget about the things that happened in our pasts, either, unless it is something that we need to let go of to free ourselves to be better people in the future.

We can't blame them for that. But I guess the past is your foundation of success for your future. However why will you live your future when it is still in the future? You should live in the present and use your experiences of the past be your tool to challenge the problems you encounter now.

We all do know that our 'past experiences' are our best teacher. This can never learnt or taught in any any schools or teachers. Past- what molds us to become a better person today and be a model and help others who are experiencing what we've been through. I do believe that God used it to lead us on our right path. I know we all have different experiences in life, there are even those who lost their right path because of what they've been through. Nonetheless, instead of blaming our past, we should move forward and use what we've learned from it to become more successful on whatever plans we want to fulfill. Keep moving forward, coz that's what life really is! God bless! ^_^

Hi wiwa, yeah we should keep moving forward treating the past is past. But past is our lessons to make our future life perfect. Blaming our past is a stupidity. God is there for all of us, he will guide you to go in a good way. Thanks for your opinion. Have a great day.

I agree. We must look toward the future. I think the biggest problem with the past is when someone had an addiction and are afraid of relapsing, or an eating disorder... or any disorder, really. But we can't let those things stop us. I agree, we have to keep the faith and know that God has a plan for all of us and we have to rise up to that plan.

Actually, in many cases, past does dictate the future. I mean when some1 does something wrong in the past, the future is the result of that past " What a man sows, that he will also reap". But yeah, we should hope and believe that God forgives our mistakes and live can be better. Hope is all that makes a difference, but sometimes, its difficult to have that when you don't see a way out!

Hi keep_onwatch, i agree with you, the past is the result for the future. But you should not think the past alone and thinking that you made a mistake then you will not get any solution. So dear keep faith on god and forget the past, forget your difficulties and look at the future and plan yourself how best you can do, try to do it. Sure i am telling you the fact that one day you will succeed in this matter. Treat past is past. Ofcourse some of the things will be dictating better leave it there itself and move to further. I wish all the people will live happily. I know our past is our experience but we must think they our real lessons and it will guide us how best we do for further. Thanks for your opinion. Have a wonderful day. God bless you.

Good evening dear friend Jotomy , ohh how well you cann writter ( speak )about this , i had used to be such a negativist dude a few years ago , and due to my negativism ,i have missed soo manny oportunities , to be a better and have a better lifestyle situation , but i cann say that i do not regret everithing , since as you have mentioned it before , you have to learn from the mistakes we make , you have to listen to other peopleexperience and stories , and thats ow i have acumulated and have managed to get out of that esimist thinking , now i am hopping always for the best , but i do not really like to let myself or my back open to others to attack and profit on it , so i like to prepare for the worst too , where from my motto too : " WISH FOR THE BEST , PREPARE FOR THE WORST" , its not one hundred pourcent positive , but i cannot be blind and not see that there are bad people encirculing me I wish you all the best from now on , a great evening and i hope to hear all well from you. Good evening dear florin, see if we take a negative one in a positive way then it will give you positive result but if you take a positive one also in a negative way then it will give negative results, all depends upon how we treat the things. I like your words well said. WISH FOR THE BEST, PREPARE FOR THE WORST. very nice. If everyone will understand these words, then they can do better plans in their life. If god grace also added then their life is more beautiful. I wish everyone will have such beautiful and wonderful life. Thanks for your nice conclusion. Have a wonderful day.

we are advise by God to be strong and have an unwavering faith to him...we should not just end up our life lying in the past but we must keep the forward step towards our goal as an individual.. we are the one's deciding for our sake but It's GOD who direct our path whenever we called him up to guide our lives.. Just take this as an example: there's no man plowing a field each day going back to the hole he made....he always continue despite also those rocky soil he is going through and finally found himself doing his job well done at the end of the day.. Life as human should be that kind of faith,,,for if we keep living within our past we can't inspire ourselves to take heart and live every day with a purpose...

But i too agree that past is also one way will help us to rectify our errors occurred in our life. We may not inspired by the past but we can take it as an experience and move on. Thanks for your response. Have a wonderful day.
