Why do terrorist have money and weapons how come they have that..?

Most terrorists are ex military or deserters and started their own military group. People in their country with big cash could have hired them as hitmen and became highly successful it that line of work,or these terrorists were born into royalty or had rich parents and grew up and studied chemistry, technology, enlisted in the military etc then probably desided not to fight anymore and deserted the military.
