I use an internet dictionary only. Even when I was in high-school I sat next to my computer for the sole purpose of using the net dictionary while I was reading a book.

We have a dictionary and I'm trying to get my 8yr old son to use it more. I think kids should learn how to use a traditional book dictionary even though it is quicker. I think that's what the internet is, quicker and only convenient if you have a computer at hand. And he doesn't have a phone with internet access so he'll need a computer to look it up. The internet makes everything easier now days, but it does do harm when kids don't know how to do things the 'old fashion' way. We can't always rely on the internet because there may be a time when it won't be available.

Personally, I would rather eat a dictionary than ever use one ever again to look up any words. Dictionaries are something that were used quite often in grade school and before the Internet, I didn't like it then. I would never really use a dictionary to look up anything. That being said, I own one. It is a relic of the days before I discovered the Internet. It's pretty much held together by copious amounts of duct tape as well. Still, the Internet is very good if you know your way around it. And I think more people are at ease with looking up information on the Internet, as opposed to a dictionary than I am. I guess I just never liked looking up information by hand to begin with, so the fact that the Internet was available and could save me a little time was something that really caught my interest.

Actually both. Because what if there is no computer? The only option would be the dictionary. Right!

Both are useful depending on what's the need. If you're a student and you want a direct reference, the dictionary can give you answers. But for further research, samples and explanations, the internet is reliable especially in today's generation.

I think it depends on different situations, internet can give us much more informations, but the dictionary is focus on the word or phrase, for me when I visit some english websites I use a web dictionary,it's very useful.

I still use dictionary because when I read a book I encounter words that I want to know the meaning of and that's why I have a dictionary by my side. On the other hand, I also use the internet while surfing and I want to express something that I cannot directly express in English that's when I start searching the net for words.

I rarely open a dictionary... it is just on my bookshelf collecting dust. I prefer to use the computer dictionary online... it is faster and convenient... makes us lazy though -__-

I prefer the internet because it seems to be closer to my fingertips than the dictionary. You can also find things much quicker on the internet and there is a great deal more information. I don't see the dictionary in paper form lasting much longer.
