Have you ever had it? My husband and I were traveling the Oregon coast and stumbled on a city (Depoe Bay) where the local fav was Seahawk Bread. You know what they say when in Rome do as the Romans. We3 gave it a try and it is absolutely one of the most fabulous things that I have ever had. Have you ever tried it? Do you know what the ingredients are?

hi LaurenInLa I am a Californian but have never met up with Seahawk bread. I do so love a good loaf of bread. I have no idea what the ingredients are but it does sound like it would be so tasty. wow. I often went to Vons artisan bakery and bought their black olive walnut bread and it was really so good. wow. they have about five different special breads there.

I'm from California as well. I just sold my house in Claremont in April and we moved to Washington state in July. I had an opportunity to stay in a friend's house in Oregon for the months of May & June. This is what I think that I've figured out so far. It starts with a hard crusty baguette. I think that the next layer is cream chesse mixed with dill. It's probably melted a bit and then it is covered with red onion, bay shrimp, and slivers of smoked salmon. Then it is topped with thinly sliced havarti cheese and they put it under the broiler. I'm missing something from the concoction but what?? The bread is extremely rich and all that you need is a couple of piece along with a small dinner salad to make a meal. Yummy.

My tummy is certainly growling over it! Doesn't sound too hard to make from your description.

Hi. LaurenInLA. No. I have never heard of this kind of bread before. I would like to know what are the main ingredients that is used to make this delicious bread though.

It starts with a french baguette that is spread witha mixture of cream cheese and dill. I think that it may be placed in the oven at this point but I'm not sure. It's then topped with thinly chopped and diced redion onion, bay shrimp, and very thin slices of smoked salmon. The last layer is a layer of havarti cheese and then I think it's put under the broiler until the cheese is melted and bubbly. When I make it the bread just doesn't taste the same so I know that I am misswing something but can't put my finger on it.

I've never heard of it. But local food can be soooo good. Oregon probably has a fine history of wonderful home-made food. If you ever find the ingredients I would love to know them.

I too have never heard of this kind of bread but of course I'm from the Midwest and it sounds like a regional thing. You've got me curious so I guess I'll have to search for a recipe on SwagBucks for it
