Bizarre Messages On Everyday Items We Buy

I have two examples for you. Over weekend we visited Morrison's for our "big food shop" and one of the items was a bag of Large Roasted, Salted Peanuts. For those of us not sure if it was a big bag of peanuts, there is a picture of them all over the bag..so there's no mistake! On the back of this bag of Large, Roasted, Salted Peanuts is this following bizarre message: "Allergy Advice: Contains peanuts." Now, people who ARE allergic to peanuts (or anything else come to that) has my sympathy but - really, would an allergy sufferer buy a bag of peanuts if they didn't see the message on the back first? I think the manufacturers are taking the piss, but maybe it's just me.. On the back of my hot water bottle (I used it because I can't sleep..still can't) it says: "Do not use boiling water!" EXCUSE ME! Since Moses was a lad we've been filling HOT water bottles with boiling water and I'm not going to stop now. It has a fleecy cover on it so I'm highly unlikely to burn myself. Also, electric kettles are designed to boil but for not very long unlike the good old days when water was heated up on the gas. It's Health & Safety gone mad, that's what it is. Do you see silly messages like this on everyday items? If you go routing in your cupboards or fridge, believe me, you WILL find something!

Hello Janey. I've seen loads of stupid labels on packaging, I'm sure they're put there by bored workers just for a laugh I'll always remember a certain one from years ago when I was at an airport. I'd forgot to pack my camera so I decided to buy a little instamatic, this was in the days before digital cameras. When I took the camera out of it's box there was a little sticker attached to it which read "warning, this camera will only work when it has a film inside." Well you'd have to be fairly thick not to realise that but it did make me laugh

Haha! I like it! The thing is; my Mum would probably try it without a film in lol (she's a bit "dizzy" that way) but thanks for making me laugh. That's brilliant!

Well, I should imagine cakes are one of the most fattening foods on the planet so to actually state there is fat in there is stating the obvious, to say the least!

There was a list of funny warning messages floating around the web at one point. Some of them were pretty funny. Yeah, I'd be reading the back of that peanuts bag to see if there were peanuts in there.

That is pretty crazy! Whoever would have thought there would be peanuts in a bag of peanuts? I have not noticed things like this, but I do believe it as the world HAS gone health and safety mad. Everyone is worried about litigation and covering their a$$es!

And there is this one on baby food, "Mother's milk is the best food for the baby." What are this people doing? Killing their own business?

Hi Janey, Yup, I have come across a lot of messages like this. But no complaints, at least they give us something to smile about. Hypothetically, the following situation will take the cake. Message on the backside of a nuke. BEWARE! HIGHLY EXPLOSIVE... PROLONGED EXPOSURE MAY LEAD TO CARCINOGENIC SIDE EFFECTS. STORE AWAY FROM HEAT. BEST USED AFTER COMMENCEMENT OF HOSTILITIES!!!!

You know that saying, "You can't be too careful"? They're just covering their corporate azzes.
