This river would blow your mind as it comes in psychedelic or rainbow colors! But you can only witness the spectacle of this river during the rainy season in Columbia. The river dries up during summer and all you can see are boulders of rocks. But as soon as the rainy season arrives and the water fills the river, varieties of mosses and algae come alive exuding shades of brilliant and amazing colors. I was told that, it is one of those magical places where you have to see it to fully appreciate it. I shall put this in my 1001 places to go before I sleep forever. By the way, it is in Colombia's national reserved park Sierra de la Macarena. The river is called Cano Cristales, considered as the most beautiful river in the world. One day I plan to visit Colombia. I am likely to visit the Caribbean coastline, its cities and a national park that has beaches. I would be most likely to visit in the dry season. I imagine that in the rainy season that the Cano Cristales is a beautiful sight. It sounds like one of those magical places to visit. Colombia is a country where overland travel by bus is not recommended in some of its regions. I would like to see a map of Colombia to see where the Sierra de la Macarena is.

That is a beautiful river, but I don't think I'm wanting to go to Columbia to see it in person... the way my luck runs, the river would be dry
