Crazy critters

My friend Hiccup posted a story about animals chasing thier tails earlier and it got me thinking about all of the stuff animals do. In our home there are my 2 kitties Ms. Molly and Lucy Sidewalker, we also have 3 fish Zachry, Fido and Tweedle Dumb (we lost Tweedle Dee), and Mr.Cuddles our guinea pig. These guys are a constant source of entertainment for us with their colorful personalities so I know that some of you have to have some crazy critter stories too.
I'll start with one not too weird, you may have noticed that we have a fish with a dogs name. This is because our angel fish thinks he is a dog, or at least he appears to. When Fido is hungery he begs, his fish tank is in a lookthrough window so he can be seen from the kitchen and livingroom and anytime you walk past he will follow you and stare. Now hold up the food can and Fido does this dance that looks like he is wagging his tail. The kids have shown all of thier friends because no one believes them but it is true.

When my sons were little, we had a fishtank with several fish and one snail. The snail's name was Flash (for obvious reasons... lol). Anyway, he (she?) was quite the party animal. You'd never think of a snail as having a personality, would you? Well, this one did.
He/she liked to slither over to an air stone we had on one side of the tank. The air stone was in the middle of some plastic seagrass kind of stuff. The snail would slither up the grass to the top, where the bubbles from the air stone would get into his shell. He/she would then let go of the grass and float across the top of the water and down the other side. After that, Flash would slither over to the air stone again and repeat the process.
We actually watched the snail do this five times in a row so we know he/she was doing it on purpose. It was quite interesting to watch this little fella having so much fun.

How cool! I would have loved to see that.I find it amazing to watch creatures that we as humans have always asumed had no personality break out with something like that. Thank you for sharing. The kids thought it was so funny when I told them that they are now begging for a snail, we may just have to get one.@mentalward (14690)

Well, just so you know, we had other snails at other times but only this one actually did more than what you see most snails doing, just slinking around sucking up algae or whatever else they can find that's yummy... to them, anyway.
If you do get a snail, let me know what you name it, assuming you name it.
