I haven't donated to a charity since I have not been working full time. Raising a family we need every penny we can get. I used to donate to March of Dimes, Habitat for Humanity, and Children's Hospital.

Charity!! You've got to be kidding friend. Its now almost 12 midnight where I live and I am not participating in discussions because I can do with the money, not that I'll starve without it-but extra cash is always welcome. I really want to do something for charity sometimes but to be brutally honest, even if i do something, its for income tax benefits.

I have been making donations, periodically, to international charity organizations which are helping needy people in countries in different parts of the world. World Vision and Red Cross are doing very well in that respect, reaching out to people in need, for instance, people suffering from natural disasters. I had donated for the Haiti earthquake disaster victims and Pakistan flood victims.

I try to give as often as I can. I consistently donate to Habitat for Humanity. Our church has a program called the Stone Soup Project. Each week volunteers make meals to feed to the homeless. I donate 6 cans of garbanzo beans every week. One of our supermarkets has a program where you can buy a product for twenty five cents a pound that is donated to the food bank. Sometimes it is bananas. Sometimes' it is potatoes or some other food item. I always add something to my grocery bill to this worthwhile project. I think that it is horrific that people go hungry in what is one of the richest countries in the world. Giving just a little makes such a tremendous difference in someone else's life.
