I think children enjoy the playful life to learn faster whereas adults who are busy with earning , families etc.. seem to have someother things in their mind pre-occupied which makes them slow to learn. If the atmosphere is good even adults learn faster. What do you say?

children to learn faster because their brains are still fresh so it is easy to focus. Adults, though clever, is not easy to focus her mind easily branched

I think that children learn faster. Their brains are still in deveopment and can grasp manny things. Alduts on the other hand must put up with the pressuress of life and other stresses which makes it hard.

i think children are..but some adults are too...the ones who are considered genius. i think it runs in the family, whether you're all fast learners or not...but maybe those who are not fast learners are actually exceptionally good at (doing) something else... or they probably have a talent like in arts or something.... i have this belief that we're all equal in a sense that, if a person is bad at this thing, he must be best in another thing.

When I borrowed the PSP of my room mate, he have this quiz type of game where you can also track you performance. As you take the series of quizzes, the teacher will rate you based on you performance and final score. He will then be displaying what age your brain is relating to your ability. As the age goes high, it means that your brain is getting duller that needs some training and exercises. The goal there is to make you brain as young as 20 years old. Because it's what they said to be the most efficient age where the brain was so fresh and active according to their studies. So I think that the younger we are, the faster that we learn. -)

Yes as there will be no extra things to look after like family , children , money ....it makes young people to just concentrate to learn. But if an adult is not having any worries as mentioned above , I think adults are also fast learners.

hello mate, i think it depends on what they will learn. I have been a tuitor during my 4 years college life. To be honest, some children were very naughty when you gave lessons and as a result, they learned very slowly. However, when you told them someting interesting or a story during the class, they would pay all their attention to it. well, to the adults, they will be a fast learner when they learn what they are interested in, such as the ways of promotion, the ways to make money and how to keep healthy, etc.

yes you are right to some extent that children learn faster as they are growing and have progressive mind to learn....but it also depends that what you are teaching to which age group...becoz at younger age when i used to learn history...i used to find it very tough...but now when i read it or teach it to my kids...i find it so easy...becoz those things are understood easily by the grown ups...so i think some things are easy to learn at younger age but some are not...

it all depends on what they will learn. for me people learn fast when they are interested on what they are doing. there are also kids that are slow in learning. if the thing to be learn is interesting then a person can learn it fast. and if he or she has a full tummy then the brain can work better har har har. so when i want to learn something i make sure i ate first but not as full as i want to sleep.

I do think that to a certain extent children do learn faster than adults. However, I do still think that adults still do have the ability of learning fast as well. i think that it just depends on the way that you want to look at it. It also varies from person to person. We all have our own speed of learning something.

I know the children are fast learners because they mind are sets for more information to gather and restore to their mind. While adult has full memories and more things to think and considered so when it comes to learning and feeding of some information it is slow.

I think that children are faster learners as they are more open minded and have pre conceived ideas about how things are supposed to work. Technology is one area where they seem to pick up things really very quickly compared to adults. I think this is because they did not know how to do whatever task it is the old fashioned way. They only know the new technology which they are learning.

I definitely think that children are faster learners than adults. The main reason that I think this is the case is because of the fact that everything in the world is new to children and they really want to take it all in. For adults, they've experienced many things in their lives and thus they aren't as aware of everything around them, therefore they aren't as apt to learn as much on a daily basis as children are.

Children do learn faster than adults. And play or fun learning is faster compared to learning by rote. As you say, children.s minds are relatively uncluttered than those of an adults and so there is this phenomenon of their being able to learn faster. Adults on the other hand will have preoccupations on their minds, which hamper the absorption of information, essential to learning. On the way to adult hood they also develop :I Know" factor. They seem to know what can hasten up their learning, this may not always be correct. A lot of study was done on this aspect and some even have come up with a graphical representation of this as a learning curve. Even for children, there are factors that influence the learning pattern. Children from homes that are secure emotionally and financially, having a role model to follow for focus and perseverance and not exposed extensively to things which grab attention (Movies, TV)perform better. Yes! conditions being same, theoretically, the learning curve should also be similar.

Adults are much fast learners, the only thing that makes the children looks like they're faster learners is because some adults are afraid of learning new things and its hard to unlearn something that you already know about making adults hard to teach (But I'm not generalizing).

I think children are definitely faster learners! One example is the fact that I learned English fluently and with no foreign accent whatsoever after I arrived in Australia from Italy and the reason for my fast learning was that I was ten years old! If I had to grasp a brand new language these days as an adult with grown up preoccupations it would take me then times as long and I would more than likely have a very strong accent as well. Another example is our entire family took up ballroom dancing and my husband and I did not do well at all whereas my daughter at age four has excelled, is still dancing five years later and has earned a silver medal! Yep…Kids have a lot less on their minds which are like little sponges absorbing information all the time!

IN my opinion, I really think that kids are more faster learners than the adults. I remember when my friend moved to Canada. He was a young child and learned English language faster than his adult parents. I guess because the brain of the child is more open to knowledge and learning new things. As when the older adults maybe have a slower mind and not as open to learning stuff.

Children, no doubt because children are more willing to learn than adults. Also, children are humble enough to know that they still need to learn not like adults who are so proud they think they know everything.

Based on my experience, kids tend to learn easily, especially if you are talking about learning new language. One of the reason is that they are not shy, they don't care if they are using the language incorrectly most of the time, they just want to try what they learn.
