Religion created by aliens?!

It's funny how if someone says they hear the voice of "god" today speaking to them, people just say "that crazy schizophrenic" but people think people who have heard "god" in the ancient times surely must have. How funny would it turn out if it turned out the "devil" sent messages to people that they should obey the word of "god" pretending to be "god", saying they must not do this, they must not do that etc, and all along "god" is tied up locked away in "satan's" closet trying to yell out "No! You are free to do whatever you choose, don't listen to him!!". But, I don't believe in stuff like that. I feel religions are man made (possibly extraterrestrial made), used to control and enslave mankind. They use fear to trick people into believing the lies, which is used in pretty much every other kind of thing today: Don't go outside or you'll get cancer; take your vitamins or you'll get the flu;blah blah blah. Perhaps mankind came up with the idea that something, not someone, led to all creation. They probably referred to this event, not person, as "god". Then over the years people twisted and manipulated things saying the event was a person. Then later people came up with a scheme that would allow them to have control over people. It'd be pretty hard to convince people to treat you as king by just saying "because, you have to, I must be king". It would be much easier if you said "The almighty 'god' said I must be king". I still don't see how people would just up and treat people like a king, even if they did say that "god" said they were chosen. The only way it makes sense is if you bring into account aliens. It may sound crazy, I even thought it was when I first heard the theory, but it makes more and more sense the more you think about it. Well..... That is my rant for the day. If you are going to leave a comment, I would suggest you read the whole thing, instead of just reading the title and leaving a response. I guess putting this note down on the bottom won't help the people who will do that though :S

Ancient astronaut theory has been around since the 1960s and a famous book called "Chariots of the Gods" (I forget who wrote it), which basically suggested that the pyramids and other such things could only have been built with alien assistance. While I would never rule out an alien race visiting Earth at any time (either in our furthest past or future), there is so very little credibility for those who claim it has already happened, and that aliens have influenced our development. If I were inclined to consider alien influence, I would look at the Nazca geoglyphs of Peru as a possible indication of early manned flight, and still say that the whole thing was circumstantial (the ancient culture may have discovered how to build hot-air balloons for example...)

Could have been alien prisoners condemned to live the rest of their life on earth, so they had to impress humans by building huge structures with the technology that was left in their pockets, probably some micro-laser and anti-gravity stick or something ;). There really are too many possibilities to list...

Funny thing, you and Jesus agree on one thing, religion enslaves mankind. If you look at the root meaning of the word, religion..it is latin and means to regulate. religare "to bind fast But Jesus said He came to set men free, and if He set them free, they were free INDEED! I believe that religion has done more to make men atheists than anyother plan the devil could have come up with. God wants our faith, our well thought out, (HE did create our minds for a reason, to use them) and considered faith. Not our religious works or beliefs.

and I am asking again...who created the aliens? where did they come from. No matter how you look at it, the universe came into being because of something...even the most learned of physists will say there is a singularity..first cause. So, what was that first cause?

You don't need God to trick people to follow a certain path. Humans are a social animal and being social means wanting to be accepted by the group. Almost every human belief system is based on forming one truth rather than accepting multiple truths. Today everyone in North America believes in human equality. This is what is called collective consciousness or shared beliefs. Now say you don't believe in human equality. Well, you're stepping out of the group and that can be a very dangerous thing. Quite recently a professor in Canada was removed from his position for suggesting that humans aren't equal. His opinion and research didn't matter because they went outside of that group consciousness. His opinions were dangerous to that group. The professor was a modern day heretic. He challenged popular opinion and was fired. How many other professors keep their mouths shut so they don't meet a similar fate? The guilt of going out of the group or being ostracized is a powerful thing. People want to feel safe and don't want to be an outsider. I used this as an example to show you that education can be effected by non-religious beliefs. Non-religious institutions are just as powerful as religious ones. Especially if they are accepted by the whole society. Does it answer your question? Of course it does. Religions do the same thing. But is it necessarily bad? Is teaching good values and morals a bad thing? Should society be a free for all? d Our religion is part of our societies tradition, and for better or for worse, our religion make us, us. Without a religion we accept no truth, no laws, etc.. There are no pure individuals. You will most certainly belong to a group. Most likely a non-religious institution. You might be part of a political institution like communism or liberalism. Aren't they kind of a modern religion? They kind of tell us all how to live. You can't get away from it. We will always follow the group. It just depends on what group is in power.

The idea of human equality is doctrine and its principles are "godly." It's rooted far more in empathy than in logic. And that makes it more of a belief system using faith to guide it. It's definitely a modern religion. There are a few of these which act more like religion than simply a cause - climate change (not the 'change,' per se, but big, bad mankind being the enemy), of course, being another. America being the big bully being another. They're worshipped more on a world stage, and America is often considered the dumber, slower country for not totally embracing the new world tenet. Everyone needs something to believe in, I guess. And it's always easier and more desired to fit in than to stand out.

Just a thought on the point you made about people hearing the voice of God speaking to them... It has been scientifically shown that some of the smartest people in the world use only about 4% of their brain normally. But when in emotionally charged situations like physical trauma, extreme joy or fear or deep meditation, all of a sudden one's neurons in the brain start firing off like crazy which results in massively enhanced mental clarity. This is when remarkable solutions to seemingly impossible problems occur. Gurus call it Higher Consciousness, biologists say "altered states", psychologists say "super-sentience" while Christians may call it "answered prayer" or maybe "divine revelation", which in simple terms some have called "adjusting ones brain to hear what the heart already knows". Hope this helps. Continue :-)

I'm sorry but I will not agree to your opinion. Yes, I respect your opinion and it is our freedom to give our opinions. I have to share also my right to give my opinion. First, I believe that there's no such things called as aliens. In our very existence, we, in our human intelligence can not traced our roots. We can not even define and explain our own existence as human. Religion is of GOD and GOD communicates HIS creations through religion. There's no way things that are called aliens created religions. I hope I didn't hurt your feelings on this comment. Happy My Lotting!

Ah, you are referring to "The Plains of Nazca". There are actually drawings all over the world of aliens meeting people. I've seen a lot of Egyptian ones. Maybe people misinterpreted aliens as gods, because they came down from the skies. Possibly they interbred with humans and the offspring were made kings and queens. There is a lot of information out there.

In a time where people knew nothing of their surroundings, of their fate, of their circumstances, a "god" was incredibly easy to create, I imagine. Ooga and Booga are two villagers, out hunting for the rest. Booga walks up some strange hill which seems to breathe, seems to be alive. Ooga says "Oh, oo, ah," which means, "Don't go up there, Booga!" Suddenly, Booga screams out as he falls into the breathing hill. Ooga rushes up the hillside to look for him, not knowing what happened to his friend. The hill then violently hisses at Ooga, causing him to panic, abandon his friend, and return to the village with an incredible tale of the great hill god that breathes and hisses fire and will eat intruders. The villagers are terrified of this hill. Where does it exist? Will hill god punish everyone? What can we do to appease hill god? So, in order to remain safe and uneaten, villagers begin throwing small animals, virgins and village criminals into the mouth of the hill god for sacrifices. If crops fail to grow, if not enough animals are caught for the winter, then hill god must be angry. When great storms pass through, hill god is on the wrath. Ooga, being the resident expert all villagers come to for matters hill god, takes it upon himself to best guess the approach the village should take. Not that he doesn't believe in hill god, as he witnessed Booga's demise. But Ooga won't let this opportunity slip by. I don't believe any religion or any "god" was intended to be used for manipulation. I think it's more or less a way in which people without access to information learned how to cope with their surroundings. It has been manipulated and it is used to extort people. But the fact that we're able to recognize this in our age is proof positive that these things are the natural evolutionary path of intelligent life. I don't buy the whole alien angle. Most of the evidence, ironically like religious evidence, has a logical explanation.

Makes a lot of sense. In fact the part about God making humans in his very image is kinda unfair to the aliens. What about the gods of the aliens? Either way... Religion is man-made and spread by man. So... Its not perfect.

I would not call myself a religious person, (did you know religion literally means "return to bondage"?) but I would call myself a spiritual person. I don't attend church regularly but I do try and read my Bible every day. I have never personally heard the voice of God, but I have felt His presence and I have felt those little tugs of things He wants me to do. The problem I always have is obeying, it seems.

Religion is just a man spread gossip so you'll find a lot of truth in the lies. Anything that can make a tool to control people and drain their money, time and stuff the human kind will use it. About the spiritual part haven't heard voices yet but have seen and felt a lot of strange stuff. Although I've had memories, thoughts in my mind that i know there not mine. About the aliens i haven't had a "close encounter" yet so i cant really talk about that.
