My son and Deb's BF were out all night drinking. It was quarter to 2 PM and they only just then went to bed. Now, I was all for going to the wine tasting at a local likker (yeah, thanks, ML) store - it's free and I would get to find out which wines I like and don't like (I'm not a big drinker), but I just don't get this HAVING to drink and drink and drink and thinking that's what makes it a good time. I just don't. I am in no way opposed to social drinking. I like certain cocktails and I like certain wines, but I grew up with a father who thought he was the life of the party, especially after he'd put a load on. Some of my worst times with him were under the influence. I swore I'd never be like him. Then I married someone who treated beer as though it were an important food group. In fact, when he'd get mad at me because he didn't like something I'd make for dinner, he'd claim that all he needed was cigarettes and beer and his food needs were complete (of course, this would be in addition to running to his mama to complain that his wife wasn't feeding him - and she'd then prepare him a meal. Effing overgrown baby!!) So, when Paul does this and then comes home and starts being "nice" and hanging all over people and then pushing his sister, who doesn't need booze to be just plain miserable, about letting us use her car so we can go to the wine tasting after she'd already told me no, it only increases the likelihood that an argument will ensue. And, one did. Then he takes offense, gets loud, threatens to leave, and then storms to his room, stomping and thumping all the way and after getting there just so he could be as annoying as possible since misery loves company. OMG! There is no amount of Calgon that can take me away, believe me. These are my kids, all adults, one on whom I depend heavily for her share of room and board. They have the right to act like fools, even if I don't like it. But, I'm so tired of being dragged down with them with no way out. I hate having no car. If I had one, I'd have already left and gone to my friend Tom's house to escape the nonsense. I had hoped to walk to the new Family Dollar in town whose Grand Opening is today. The big Country Station will be broadcasting from there between 3 & 5 and giving prizes away. I'd like a shot at tomorrow's concert and whatever else might be available. It's only three blocks (which are smaller than most big city blocks), so I was sure my DIL and granddaughter would be interested in going, but I was wrong. Instead, Tom will take me before we go to Mass. *sigh* Quite the Saturday! So, how's your day going??

That's just terrible... I'm having a quiet day. The roomie, the blind one, is off to Galveston for a cruise and the other roomie and I are just hanging out at the house. I had to talk her into going to the doc because she's covered with itchy sores. So, I've been to the bank, paid some on my car insurance, and come home and mylotted until I talked the roomie into going to the doc. I have also done Maggiepie's laundry

Haven't they been supposed to come all week???? WTF??? My day has finished pretty much the way it started. PLUS, I had a huge blowout fight with Tom that ended our night on a lousy note. I have a tension headache the size of Cleveland right now and I get to babysit (woohoo) because they all went out to ..... you guessed it ..... drink!!

Gee, I don't know - call the housing inspectors or the health department and make them aware of the situation? It won't pass annual inspection if they don't get it right.

hi jerzgirl well my day so far seems good but quiet as it usuallyis here in Gold Crest the ones here who have family to viist go do that o n the weekends as no activities of any kind happen on the weekend. so I get on my trusty computer and enjoy myself and also mylot like crazy too. my son comes to visit me each weekend as he is now working again and its easier for him on the weekends when he has more time.Jerz but wait a minute do they have the right to act like fools even as adu lts, they are still your kids and as such should damned well respect you;tell them so please.i just do not get the idea that being sloshed and stupidly sloppy drunk is fun? wow.

I don't get it, I really don't. My son just says, "this is a new generation" which is fine for some things, but it still doesn't make it right or keep it from causing problems. You'd think having seen the problems themselves, they'd figure it out like I did; but, nope. I got away for a few hours before having a huge fight with Tom and came home to find that they'd begun drinking again and now they're on their way out to continue putting it away. I'm not at all happy with this new way of entertaining (or old way of entertaining given that my father often didn't come home after work until he was six sheets).

Hi. jerzgirl. Your husband really needs to grow up and start acting like a grown man and not a child! My day is going okay. I accidentally missed my daughter's appointment today by another date. I got the day mixed up. It made me feel so bad when I found out that I was all mixed up with the date. On top of that, my menstrual cycle is on today. So, I am feeling pretty down in the dumps today. Plus it is raining outside and I don't like to be outside when it feels so wet.

I've been divorced for 20 years. Now it's my kids who are into this. And, my day today is MUCH better than that day was!

Oh my that's not good. Well, for me, my day's like any other day. Today I came back from overseas, from visiting my relatives. So, I went there, visited them, played with my nephews, took some goodies back home and here I am, back home and logging back to Mylot.

That sounds nice, being overseas and visiting family. I like going overseas myself, although my family, what little there is, is here in the US. Where did you go?
