Favorite things or places to photograph?

My wife and I are professional photographers who have a passion for all kinds of photography. We usually have our cameras with us no matter where we are going, just in case the urge strikes us to take a picture of something. We have a wide range of favorite things and places to photograph though. We live close to the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina which provides tons of opportunities for photography. We are also only a few hours away from the beach and the Great Smoky Mountains. Here lately, I have become obsessed with taking pictures of things that are hundreds of years old, whether it is an old run down house, building, or church and old railroads and bridges. So what are your favorite things to photograph? Do you have some favorite places to go? If you're interested in seeing any pictures that we have done, just let me know.

Oh, professional photographers ! That's wonderful ! I would say I am just an amateur. But, I do enjoy taking pictures whenever I travel, in the country and overseas. That would be just to have record and remenders of the places I have been to. In fact, I had the chance once to pass through the Great Smokey Mountains. The Blue Ridge , right ? Really very beautiful scenic region.

We take pictures professionally, but we love to take pictures of just about every aspect of our lives, especially since our son was born. We take pictures of him and our cat all the time around the house and the randomness of life. The Great Smoky Mountains are incredible! I finally got the chance to travel extensively through the Great Smoky Mountains since getting married a little over 2 years ago. My wife loved that area before we met, so when we got married, we went on our honeymoon in the Great Smoky Mountains. We live at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains which is a smaller mountain range very close to the Great Smoky Mountains and they are incredible as well. There are so many places to photograph in both of these areas!

I generally like taking pictures of anything and everything depending on how it looks. Lately though I have been interested in taking pictures of the Pittsburgh skyline at night. It looks so beautiful. This weekend I am going to a place near where I live called Jumonville for some pictures.

The Pittsburgh skyline is awesome! I have had the opportunity to travel to Pittsburgh because one of my teachers in High School had a brother who worked in the city, so we got to take several field trips up there. On those trips I fell in love with the city! We got to take a tour of the entire downtown area and take a dinner cruise on the Three Rivers! It was so awesome! The last time I was there, they had just completed Heinz Field. I am definitely ready to go back and take in a Steelers game this time! Another great thing about the city was Mount Washington...from there you can see everything!

hey it is a good thing that your wife is also a photographer. i always feel that there should be some one close to you who can always review your snaps professionally and can comment on that. so that if you feel you can capture that once again. also sometimes, we tend to miss a very genuinely beautiful spot when others may pick them up. so groups are better. check out my snaps @ http://www.amitavroy.com and I would really appreciate if you can comment on them with your views.

Yes, it is great to have my wife as a photographer as well! It does help to get her input and point of view on shots as well. A lot of times, she will see something differently than I do, so it helps that we can get together and determine which would be better. She is also able to point out some areas that I should work on too. Two sets of eyes are much better than one for sure! Also, I checked out your website and the photos that you took! They were really good. I liked the one that you had made of the waterfall. If you want another cool effect when taking photos of waterfalls, set the camera up on a tripod and slow down the shutter speed even more. When you take the picture, the flow of the water will blur together and it makes quite an interesting effect. You can see one such example at this website: http://www.hickerphoto.com/waterfall-canada-9575-pictures.htm

lately I have been taking pictures of Light Houses. I don't know if it is because i like them - each one is different, or if it is that I enjoy traveling to them.

That sounds awesome! I haven't had that much of an opportunity to photograph lighthouses because the closest one to me is around 5 or 6 hours away. I have been able to travel to 2 lighthouses before but that was really before I had gotten into photography. I will definitely have to go back sometime in the near future to take plenty of pictures of them. Lighthouses are a great thing to photograph. I guess it's because they are each unique and seem to convey so much history in many cases. The traveling can't hurt either!

I really love the tranquility that landscape photography conveys us. Aside from capturing great sceneries it also shows us the wonders of God's master piece. Apart from landscapes, lately, i was captured by the faces and emotions of portrait photography and currently falling inlove with the stories that every wedding pictures tells us. Really looking forward of doing wedding photography someday.

Nature and landscape photography is really my favorite type of all photography! I love capturing the changes of the seasons and the colors that go along with it. I love the vibrant colors of flowers during the spring time and the leaves as they change colors in the fall. There is just something peaceful and serene about being outside and taking pictures of my surroundings. It makes me stand in awe of the things that God has created. My wife and I had the opportunity to photograph our first wedding this past August and it was awesome! It was a very big challenge, but we had so much fun with it and are looking forward to doing more in the future.

For me are the birds, flowers, historic sites and nature. Taking photos of birds is challenging because they move a lot and for taking a portrait or closeup photo motivated me for more to take a better photo. I really enjoy it!!!

I, too, like taking photographs of historic places. My wife and I traveled last year to Washington, D.C. and I was like a kid in a candy store! The history of the buildings, architecture, and landscapes is awe-inspiring. There is just something about everything there that seems so impressive and causes you to stop and think about the things that have happened in those places. For instance, we were standing in the Capitol Rotunda during a tour and I just stood there thinking about what it would have been like to have been in that same place while Presidents Lincoln and Kennedy (my 2 favorites) were lying in state after being assassinated. I thought about the price that so many people had paid so that we could have our freedom. It was definitely an incredible experience and we came back with lots of memories and tons of photographs!

I too love to take photos with my camera. I am interested in sunsets and sunrises. I can be found chasing them frequently. Otherwise I am into shooting pictures of insects and flowers. I enjoy taking photos of people too but most of all my favorite subject is my Yorkie. She is adorably cute, looks great in all clothing and knows how to pose on Que with the ability to strike a pose sharing several looks with the camera. It has been a delight to photograph her, pretty much on any occasion although she is at her best when it is planned and she is told she is going to a photo shoot. Unfortunately I have recently just formatted my computer and no photos handy right this second. I am also out of town as well but perhaps once I arrive back home to my millions of photos I have recently put on cd from the computer, I shall upload. Like yourselves, the camera is everywhere with me. Can't leave home without it because one just never knows when they will get that artistic urge.

I love taking pictures of sunrises and sunsets as well! I have been able to take quite a few of them but haven't gotten to upload many of them lately. My favorite sunset picture that I have ever taken was on one of my trips to Miami Beach. My wife and I took a tour around Miami and Miami Beach on a boat. On our way back into the marina, the sun was setting behind downtown. In the foreground of the photo was the Biscayne Bay and the palm trees that lined the highway, then all the buildings in downtown Miami, all with the sun setting behind the buildings which made the sky a bright orange and pink. It was awesome! The sunsets and sunrises in Miami are the best!

I like taking pictures of my family as well! When my wife and I do photo sessions will people who have kids, we just like to go somewhere that the kids can run around and play while we take pictures. I like the photojournalistic type of photo sessions the best. The people in the photos look a lot more realistic than they do in posed photographs. I also like the nature photos. I take my camera with me and use it quite often when I go hiking because there are so many opportunities and objects that can be photographed.
