Hmm..I've encountered a similar experience before (my mom asked me to "save" her computer and it turned out to be plagued by several viruses as well as spyware). It took me a couple of days but I got it cleaned. Since I always end up cleaning computers for my family and friends I wrote down a step-by-step guide so that they can do this for themselves. It's too long to repost here, but you can read this here: http://factoidz.com/a-basic-guide-to-removing-viruses-from-your-computer/. Hope this helps!

That sounds really bad indeed :( One anti-spyware program that I think is really good is Spybot, you can get it for free on their site: http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html Also, when getting rid of the viruses and such, instead or just restarting your pc try actually turning it off for about 10-15 seconds. I'm saying that because sometimes even if you deleted them from your hard drive, the corrupted files may get stored in the RAM memory, so when you restart the pc they just 'come back', so to speak. Turning off your pc will 'clean' your RAM instead, so there'll be no chance of getting infected again that way. I hope everything goes well and that you can get rid of those nasty viruses!

First of all, there is a difference between a virus and spyware. Some viruses are spyware but not all spyware is a virus. A virus can reproduce itself and be passed on to other machines, spyware cannot. The general term for all 'bad' things that get into your computer unannounced is 'malware'. Spyware Doctor is a good tool and should be able to remove whatever malware it finds. Just run a scan, select whatever it detects and ask it to remove or clean your PC. Avast, Avira and AVG are all free antivirus tools which can not only detect and remove (most) viruses which exist on your PC but also run in the background and prevent viruses and other malware from installing. They all have a database which is updated regularly from a website and it is very important to let an antivirus program do that. Of the three I mentioned, I have used AVG for many years but some months ago I changed to Avast. Both of those are very good - quite as good as the programs you pay for like Norton. I haven't personally used Avira but I chose Avast because it is said to be the most user-friendly. You can download it from here: http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download Simply download the installation program and run it, following the instructions. Once you have installed it, run a full scan (you have to be patient! It takes a while) and allow it to delete and repair anything it finds. The whole process is quite long and boring but at the end of it you should have a clean PC. It is not a good idea to have two antivirus programs running at once (though you can have more than on installed on the PC), so I would advise stopping or disabling Spyware Doctor (there should be a menu item to do that) before you install and run Avast. Don't worry about it 'not being your field'. If you own a car, you should at least be able to change the water and oil and keep the tyre pressures correct: if you own a PC, you should also know a few simple things like how to run an antivirus program!

Based on those viruses you mentioned, Antivir can kill those viruses. NED32 is quite strong. By the way, I recommend you to visit www.virustotal.com then find a file on your computer which you suspect that has virus then allow it to scan. Check out of the result then whichever antivirus software was able to scan it with virus, then use that recommended anti virus software. Good Luck!

It sounds like you had a pretty bad experience regarding that Technician. Not all of them are bad thankfully. The first thing I want to ask you is, do you have the original disks for your laptop? If so this will enable you to reinstall windows on your laptop. If your laptop is in such a mess that you can hardly do anything then I would definitely recommend a reformatting of your hard drive. Do you have any kind of antivirus product on your laptop at the present time? If you haven't got an antivirus on your laptop then I would initially recommend you use one of the free versions like AVG which is quite good when it comes to free antivirus software. I use Norton 360 myself and I have to pay yearly for this but it's well worth it. What version of windows are you using? XP, Vista? I was going to say that you could probably do a system restore to a date before you started experiencing these problems although there's no guarantee that it would work and I'm not sure that system retore works all that well on vista. I would probably recommend you doing a reinstallation of windows but make sure that you have all your important files backed up before you do this. By reinstalling windows you get a clean slate and everything is working fine once again and the first thing to obviously do is get that antivirus on your system. Good luck. Andrew

My advice with you my friend is that very easy. I don't want you to be hardly take the process with no sure of taking out those viruses...because some of the viruses you talk here did not ease as you run anti-viruses... The best thing you do, if you do not have important file into it is reformat your computer..much safer and cleaner... But if you file..backup those files before reformatting... Have a nice day!

You can try AVG Anti-virus free edition or Trend Micro's free online housecall scan. That is a more powerful tool. I hope this helps :)

I don't know if it work, but i recommend you to use kaspersky and see if it can be removed. Kaspersky is good antivirus software. It may help.Spyware doctor is a good antispyware software. If it didnt work may be it is not a spy ware in your system.Try some antivirus.

Hey first tell me which antivirus you really use. I think now you may try Avast professional. Because it is a full version antivirus and also valid till August 2012. I also use this antivirus. And always this antivirus protects my PC against mostly viruses. So now you may try this. I give you a link where you can download this antivirus full version. http://www.rapid.pk/2010/08/avast-50656-pro-antivirus-internet.html

If you want free antivirus avast would be the one but i prefer norton. Your viruses probably ain't that hard to delete. But even if they were don't format your pc it isn't necessary i haven't formatted once in 6 years. Use ccleaner to clean up a bit it isn't antivirus but it's free and speeds up your pc by cleaning unneeded stuff. I'd access your pc and clean it via software i have but don't think you'd trust me so you're on your own, good luck!

You can try Malwarebytes. I used it before to remove the viruses in my PC. Malwarebytes has developed a variety of tools that can identify and remove malicious software from your computer. When your computer becomes infected, Malwarebytes can provide the needed assistance to remove the infection and restore the computer's back to optimum performance.

Well using avg would be your best bet as it is freeware and it is able to eliminate almost any virus out there. It self updates and it is a program that does not hog your cpu like norton anti virus. You should go to the site and download the free version and do a scan. After you should download a program called cc cleaner and that will clean any regestry errors and clean out unneccessary files on your computer.Computer viruses are a pain but with the right tools you can quickly and easily get rid of them before they cause any harm to your computer and files.
