I don't know why, it worked perfectly fine before.. but then I plugged it again to my computer, and when I go to the folder ..my computer then my hard drive.. nothing's there [ 0 objects].. but when I checked the properties there's still 233 MB free space- it says and other spaces were used. I've been searching the net for answers but nothing works for me. Maybe some people here know how to fix this problem. Oh, I don't know what to do.. the file's aren't hidden- they're just 'invisible' ...but they can't just be gone like that.. please help.. any computer expert out there?

I suggest you wrap the hard drive in polythene to waterproof it and froze for two days, then dry it for 15min. try reading. I advised get your data out as soon as possible. Good luck

This suggestion should be followed only after all other option fail to yield results. The option after this one will be ultimately to take the hard disk to data forensic labs. There your data will most definitely be recovered for around 200 dollar of fees.

Yes sometimes these problems happen. I think you may check everything under in folder options. Because sometime file become invisible due to some virus attacks. I think you may check slowly-2 under everything in your folder options and I recommended you to check their OS related options. Yes sometimes some options are sleeted or not selected due to some virus attacks on our system. I have also faced this problem in my USB drive. But I have done this these things. And I find solution.

first of all try the excellent software TestDisk. It is free and does what it says. Recently I was installing Ubuntu on my desktop and some faulty program deleted my active partition. I then searched on Ubuntu forums and found out that TestDisk was the ultimate solution, and so it was. You should donate them if it solves your problem, if you please.

if you have any laptop or PC using linux Ubuntu, fedora etc), try to see from there. If you can see contain of your HD, it means there is no physical damage on your HD, you can copy all files from there uisng your linux based pc or laptop, and then you format your HD using windows..
