Maybe most people will say that "yes".Because those people never have experienced these issues. However,I have met this problem. And you? In my hometown, lack of fresh water is more serious than ever before. When I was a kid, there was a a clear river in front of my house. But now the river had not existed. We have not had enough water to eat.We have to draw water from other places. Why?There are many kinds of reasons. Are you sure that this problem do not happen to you? Why?It is time to human to think this serious problem.

If you look at the way people in my country use water, sooner or later, we will all be deprived of water. Why? Because people don't treasure what they have! Do people in the rural areas of India, Pakistan, Israel have access to clean water? No! People in my country are taking things for granted. They use water like it's unlimited. They throw water away and don't even recycle it to water the plants or wash the car, if they have. Gauging by the way people use water, I don't know how long we still have fresh water. Adding to the fact that global warming is on the rise, water is evaporating everyday. So....will fresh water be used up? Ask Mother Nature :)

I really dont know the answer to this. I think some areas just always have less water then other places. In my town we have had droughts where we've been asked to conserve water yet they sit all day with lawn sprinklers going on the football field at the school to keep the grass growing. Does that make sense.. to me it doesnt they arent saving water at all that way. Even though I have a well I still try to conserve water.

I am not so sure it will never happen to me. I live in Australia and we’ve had water restrictions for the past few years where we are limited to watering our lawns only once a week and in some states washing cars etc. is not allowed. We haven’t had enough rain during the winter months and now that it warming up we’ll be back to square one. A lot of people don’t appreciate that this may well be a very dire situation not too long from now!

YOu are so right about fresh water going to one of the major issues in the years to come, and now is the time for everyone to realises the importance of fresh water and trying everything within their means to preserve it and not allow any wastage. In India more than 80 percent villages do not have drinking water, they have to walk a minimum of 2 to 5 kms to get drinking water and they whole life gets spent like that. People like us living in the cities do not face such situations, so we do nto care. But time is come for everyone to care and start thinking abour conservation. If each one of us can save whatever water we can, the world will have eater for atleast the next 100 years. THINK!!!

Oh it will be sooner or later. California's waters reserves are running very low, so it why they are pressuring the entire state to conserve water.

Many years ago I lived in a place that did not have much clean water for people to use. In desperation one had to pay people to get you the water one needed, but one did not really know the origin of that water, so what could one do? Running water in general was also in short supply and I remember one time having to decide whether to pour the water over me, or flush it down the toilet, but the toilet won! It was my birthday that day! I am thankful to be living now in a place that has much rain and where water is not a problem! Believe it or not, water is a luxury!

Water is the most precious resource to all life. We all rely on it for survival. It's important for people all over the world to make the effort to conserve their water and all other resources, with regard to the ecosystem and the survival of mankind.

This isn't something I think about often but have in the past.I'm lucky to live on the Great Lakes and we really have no fear of clean water being depleted here due to the huge amounts of fresh water along with snow melt, rain etc, but I do see how it could be a problem in other parts of the world. I think the biggest threat to our water is some sort of bioterrorism rather than a depletion but I suppose thats possibleas well.

I believe that I once read that in the future, water will be the new oil, meaning that there will be a shortage of it as there is of oil which is a non renewable resource. We all need water to live os I think that this will bring out some very difficult scenarios. It's unfortunate that we are not forward thinking enough to be working on a solution to something that is almost a certainty.

Yes, the scarcity of pure drinking water is now posing a great problem to the whole civilization. All the sources of surface water is being destroyed due to environmental pollution for which man is to blamed. The rain pattern has changed totally. More & more ground water is used causing a decline in ground water level. To get rid of this problem, man has to be very cautious in his use of water. Necessary steps should be taken to recharge the ground water. The environmental pollution should be brought down as far as possible. All these steps if taken in a scientific may help mankind to tide over the crisis. Otherwise, a time will arrive when human civilization will come to an end due to scarcity of drinking water.
