A child's world is supposed to be fresh and new and beautiful, full of wonder and excitement. Unfortunately, this is not the case for some kids, especially for those born and bred in cities. Their joys are dimmed and even lost because a majority of them are forced to attend various art classes. What's your opinions on this phenomenon?

Hello, Why should the life of a child be dimmed because of taking art classes? I really can't associate these two things. Art classes are important. They not only develop imagination but also helps building an appreciation for modern as well as classical arts. The most important thing about art is that it somehow induces, in a child's mind a sense of decency and proportion which at later times develop into a keen moral and ethical sense. The immediate result of art classes is of course a more stable hand movement, improved good hand-eye co-ordination and a good hand writing. If the art classes don't seem interesting enough then it is the teachers or the system that is to be blamed not the art class as a whole. Thanks. God bless you.

Hi, getbiswa I read you response naturally, or I didn't given you a reply. I'm sorry to hear that I misconstrued what you said. I just thought that you agreed with the parents forcing their kids to go to art classes in that time. Now I read it again, it's my fault for it. Please don't care for it now.

Yes, some parents claim that it is beneficial for children's development. They might have their reasons because most parents are convinced that their kids are gifted from the god. they presume that the earlier their children are exposed to arts, the more likely it is to find out the artistic potential hidden in them. Even if their children have little interest. Do you think this is a good way? After all, some of other methods also can improve kid's knowledge. I think the parents shouldn't force their kids to study some art classes. But if they have some interest of art, we need to have a try.

It really depends... If the child wants it then why not. One day, if I'll become a parent, I will never forced my child to be something that he/she doesn't wanted, coz I know the feeling. I'll support him but I'll guide him for every decisions that he'll made. A child could really put his passion to something that he wanted rather than to something he doesn't wanted... That's mostly what happened if children doesn't love what they're doing- they'll definitely fail from it all over again even they've already given their best. ^_^

well, if the kid wants it, then art class is really good. if the kid really hates it, then don't. art classes help kids to be creative though. at least for me anyway. it develops a kid's creative abilities. so there definitely is a benefit there. however, if the kid is just being forced to attend them, then why make him take art classes.

Thanks for you response. I think so too. We shouldn't force the kid to study some art classes that they have little of interest.

I used to send my son during summer vacations to art classes in nearby cultural centre. I don't think that it will be useful for them at early stages as far as i am concerned. On the other hand we can give exposure for them in variety of other fields of their interests, say in sports activities.

It depends I think. If the child is interested in attending art classes then its okay to do that but if the child is not interested in doing so then it would be a waste of time and money.

Yes, I agree with what you said. Childhood is a time for children to play as they wish. Rather than cramming knowledge, it is more important to pave the way for their desire to know than to put them on a diet of facts they are not ready to assimilate.

I think that's what lacking, I child should attend art classes or anything that will develop his/her skill. It should be part of the curriculum.

I don't hope learning the arts will be a force for children. It is good for children to learn arts because it can make them much more creative. The creation is so important for human beings. Just give them a chance to learn it, but don't ask them to be the painters and so on. They shall find joy in arts. I love China
