OMG
I just read this on the news that an explosion happened in De LaSalle, Taft Avenue, Manila. I hope no one died but the report said that 35 were injured. As always the security is lax. What is happening with our COUNTRY
?!? Its like no one has learned their lesson and that anytime we will be struck by DISASTER again... What is wrong with us... I don't know how our country will rise above all this... i just hope that something will be done to lessen or at least to capture the people behind this

Based from the last news update, this is again the work of "prating galit, prating takaw away" fraternities. One frat member lobbed a pillbox in front of a group of students identified with a rival fraternity. Unfortunately, fragments dont discriminate so even innocent non-fraternity students were hit.
This is making me convince that there should be a new law banning all fraternity organizations in schools. They bring nothing but violence and promote bullying.

I wonder, is there such Bill being implemented? I feel that fraternities are prone now for more violence, instead of strong brotherhood. such brotherhood for the benefit of the many and not for themselves and harms to innocent people. this isn't helping our society, they are degrading it. maybe there was hazing in the past, but not as worst as today.

Many of our dear politicians are themselves members of fraternities when they were still in college.
I think the fraternities of today are more violent and have little if any regard to the lives and properties of non-members whenever they have these rumbles they even call "wars". And for what? Is it for an ideology? For food? For defense of their country, homes or family? Nope, they do these because of nothing more than trying to prove which one is "stronger" and "meaner" than the other. In short: "pataasan ng ihi". Payabangan in tagalog term. These frat-brothers think they are better than everybody else and they feel good that other students fear them. Just like law-abiding people fear goons.
The latest news update was that tragically, one of the students, a female, got her left foot and arms amputated. Her future and lives in peril because of nonsense kayabangan.
This is why the fraternities, which degenerated into nothing more than street gangs, should all be disbanded/outlawed in college and high school.

this is sad... why are the kids nowadays into so much violence... and poor students this is the last stage for them to realize their dreams and now what? i doubt it that there will be any law or bill against fraternities since as you have mentioned that our law makers themselves came from this brotherhood. i doubt this fraternity who's done this is a well-know fraternity. i feel sorry for the students that have been hurt even the innocent bystanders... what is happening to our kids will reflect the future of our country.

Someone I know actually got hurt in the incident - seems like she's doing fine, thank goodness. I'm confused about the fraternities that were involved in the incident. Were any of the two connected to DLSU in some way? Cause I'm pretty sure DLSU disallows forming or joining fraternities. When I was a freshman there they had us sign a contract that says we won't join or create fraternities.

i'm not really sure myself if its fraternities from inside the campus... i guess not... i also came from a DLSU consultancy school back in high school.. one of their representatives informed us about not creating frats inside the school or you'll get dropped out...

Hello freymind,
These students have dreams! IF these Screw up children wanted to start their frat wars, they should do it elsewhere away from arms way.those people who are taking the bar exam aren't doing it for fun and play. this is their future that were talking about! this isn't fair at all, they don't deserve this getting involved in such horrible bombing.
In my opinion, I WANT THEM KILLED. so senseless, no consideration for innocent people. they are parasites who chose the wrong way, wrong kind of brotherhood. this isn't fraternity, it's a gang of thugs only to feel like being a gangster. @thirdylopez (171)

Nothing is wrong with our country.
Filipinos are just too pessimistic that we sensationalize failure and bring people who bring honor to our country down...
