Alcoholic Friend

So I have this friend. I've known him for quite a while and he's always been an eff up. I saw him at the bar on Saturday. He just quit his job because he showed up to work to fix a problem and was drunk. I guess this hasn't been the first time he came to work this way. Since he isn't working he can't pay his rent. Also he is on probation and has a drug test today. He said he will fail the test and will be going back to jail. He said he likes jail because its a place to stay and he is fed there. I feel really bad for him and I asked him why he doesn't go to rehab. He said that when he gets out no one will be there for him. I said that I would. Out of all of his friends, they are all drunks too so they are all out of the question. He's got 2 kids who he never sees. The girl moved away, still in the state but like hours away. i know he loves his kids but he knows it's better than he is away from them in his condition. He told me he drank a bottle of rum in 5 days. This guy is not in good shape. I just wish him the best and I hope that he gets help. I want to help him get into a rehab facility, even if in the back of mind I know he will drink again when he gets out.
