every month our company conducts a RTD or Round Table Discussion. It's about sharing of thoughts, ideas and experiences on a specific topic that they will. Its my second month to join the RTD, and our September topic focuses on the behavioral norm which is,SPEAK THE TRUTH AT ALL TIMES wherein they gave us two topics and you may choose only one. the first topic, give an instance (work related) wherein you did not tell the truth (whether white lies or blatant lies). how did you feel about it? the second topic, give an instance wherein you tell the truth (work related) which was very unpopular to your co - employees. what was the reaction of your co - employees? how did you feel about it? is there anyone who experience about the topic? can you share it with me? let's have a RTD here in mylot. i hope everyone can enjoy and share their thoughts and experience. every idea will be much appreciated. thanks in advance. :)

I don't know if its already considered as a lie, but as a system administrator in our office, I often keep secrets for confidential data to my non-administrator colleagues. Those kind of information that they were not allowed to know it yet or should it be that it's their department head who should tell them. But there are also times where I actually tell a lie just to cover confidential information. I hate to admit it but I sometimes feel like I'm becoming a natural liar because while telling those, I'm feeling nothing at all making the lie seems to be the truth. For the truth, I often tell them to my trusted colleagues who are also my friends. When something about management issue leaks out but was not security threatening for the company, I tell my friends about it. At first, they tend to get shocked about these issues but later on, they feel just natural because they came to know about their manager better and thus already expecting those actions from them. I think our department is planning to conduct something like this RTD too to improve relationships among different groups and other office mates. I will called "Retreat" and will be considered as an official company activity. As for now, it is still being reviewed by the management and is said to release a memorandum for the result after few months.

Round Table Discussion is one of the most effective ways to communicate, share ideas, and express ourselves to others. I think it is one of the most important procedure to be imposed not only in families, companies, and even our personal and private life. It is one way to find our place to each other and being comfortable to others. It is one way to express your feeling and thoughts about certain aspects that you like.

In my office there is no RTD but I can share my opinion about it. Given the questions, it seems like it is assumed that lying is prominent in the society. There are times when I feel like lying is just like applying for a loan. There'll come a time when you will have to pay for it. So it is better to tell the truth always so you won't have to think about it later on. :)

Well....i dont speak th truth at all times. There are times when you have to speak lies based on the situation. It business, in relations etc. Some lies which can save a life or from a loss, i dont think is a fault.
