No coins from Harappa yet reported, only clay sealings were found in archaeological excavations. In Mesapotamia we found many seals and inscriebed clay tablets only. egyptians not issued coins, they depands on barter systoms.

China is the first country to use coins. It appeared in Shang dynasty(about 1600BC to 1046BC).There are some bronze shells in Yin Ruin(Shang dynasty's captial ruin). In Spring and Autumn period(770BC to 476BC),different vassal states make their own coins. These coins have various shapes, such as circle, square, annulus and shape of the knife. When Qing dynasty(221BC to 206BC) unify the whole China,it used round square hole coins instead of other types. There is only a few changes in Chinese coins in the next 2000 years. In Chinese Middle Age,silver is more important than copper in everyday life.

After the barter systom the Sea shell (cowry) was the first coin in India. In rigvedic era some good shaped gold objects "NISHAKA" were used as coin. In ancient India, Chanakya had described all type of money. about 1000 BC ,coins were circulated in India.
