Update: Husband's criminal case

So my husband had his hearing today. I guess I was lied to by the lady at the magistrates office. She told me to bring what we could and he would set him up on payment arrangements. The public defender came out and told hubby that the judge was going to waive the case to court, meaning that he has another hearing in November in front of a county judge and he will make the payment arrangements. I guess there was a piece of paper saying that he could find out what the evidence against him is, cross examine witnesses, etc. Now I don't know if he has to plead not guilty before they will tell him anything. Doesnt seem fair to me if that's the way it is. How is he supposed to make a decision of he doesn't know what theyhave or don't have on him.

Plead "not guilty" initially; he can always change it later. He can also contact the prosecuting attorney, who may or may not discuss the case with him. His public defender, however, should be communicating more with him.

I have a lot of questions that I want to ask the PD. Do you think he will talk to me if I call??

I think if I were guilty, I would plead guilty and if I wasn't then I would plead not guilty. I would never plead guilty if I was innocent regardless of the so-called evidence. What exactly did he do or is he accused of doing?
