Do your kids try to sneak toys to school?

I don't let my kids bring toys to school unless it's a show and tell day. Toys can be lost, stolen, broken.. or they can be a distraction during class. However, my kids have tried to sneak toys to school in their bookbags. I check their bags when they get home from school, but not before they leave in the morning. I guess I have to start checking in the morning too. Now I haven't really had this problem in awhile.. the twins used to try it in Kindergarten, but they learned quickly that I wouldn't allow it and they'd be in trouble if they did it. However, for the past week my daughter has been acting up, and twice now she's brought a toy to school in her backpack. Last week it was a toy car.. today it was a toy cellphone. I'm very angry at her. She knows better than to try to sneak toys to school. This, on top of everything else she's been doing lately has me at my wits end with her.

Naomi got caught at extended day a few years ago. She had sneaked her gameboy in and was caught playing it. When the teacher took it away, she sneaked into their cabinet and stole it back. I was laughing inside, but we ended up giving her a stern talking to, and wouldn't let her have the gameboy for a week.

Kathryn will occasionally stuff one of her toys into her bookbag when she goes to school, but she really doesn't do it on a regular basis. I've found that with her the main time that she tries to take something in her backpack with her is when she is going through a time in her life that is somewhat traumatic. That said, she doesn't get in trouble when she does it, but I also make sure she knows the ramifications of what could happen to her toy.

My kids try to as well. The only things they are allowed to bring is an occasional ball or jump rope as the school does not supply these things for use on the play ground like they did when I was a kid. Trust me I can't afford to replace them so they get marked up w/ permanent marker and I check for them everyday after school. The only other thing we had a lil issue with was #2 liked to bring her blanket to school, she'd just leave it in her bag but had to know it was there for a while last year in 4k.

My children's school does not allow them to carry backpacks for multiple reasons but, they do take their ipods to school and I asked if they were allowed to have them at school (the school administration) and they said yes because they have down time during lunch. Several years ago my middle one was always trying to sneak the dog off to school with him, I never did understand that one.
