how do you feel about spanking children?

i was never spanked and i think i turned out ok. i had a good old fashion guilt thrown at me though lol. so are you for? or against? and were you spanked as a child? do you spank your children?

i dont belive in spaking. i think children learn by example and all they're going to lern from u spaking them is that you solve you problems with abuse.

can be very true depending on how you do it. i agree with the person above you that punishment cannot just be spanking, you have to explain and make sure they understand why you are doing it and you defiately should not do it because you are frustrated.

i was spanked when i was a kid maybe only about a couple of times, but that was because of my extreme naughtiness! hehe! but spanking children is not the correct way of disciplining children. children are such angels!

I'm fine with it as long as it's done when it's warranted, and doesn't turn into abuse. That's when they start leaving marks, breaking bones, things of that nature.

don't you think a lot of people have a hard time drawing that line though? i also have a problem with it when it comes at times when the parent is in a bad mood rather than the reason the spanking is being given as punishment.
