Anyone of you heard about this much buzzed movie? It's basically the story of the facebook invention by Mark Zuckerberg, which originally came from a regular social network for Harvard students and now worth billions of money, just in 6 years. It may sounds regular (and looks like documentary) and not intruguing, but it was directed by david Fincher, the mastermind of Fight Club, 7even, Ben Button, and Zodiac and written by Aaron Sorkin, West Wing TV series director. I was not interested by this movie until this week where many media praised this movie after its screening and dubbed it as Citizen Kane of the decade. They said it's not only depicted the life of Zuckerberg when he built the website and became a mogul, but also the reflection of how people are very affected by narcism and fascination of public expose on the last decade. Starring Jesse Eisenberg, Rooney Mara, Bryan Barter, Justin Timberlake, until now it's rated 100% on rotten tomatoes, which might beat Toy Story 3 for the freshest movie of the year and the best Oscar contender for best Pic next year besides Inception, Toy Story, Last King Speech and The Kids Are Alright. It opens this week in the US,hopefully it opens very soon in my country :)

As odd as it may sound, I only first heard of this movie last week. It came up in a discussion that my husband was having at work and he called to ask me a question about Facebook. However, now that I've heard of the movie, I do believe that it is something that I would like to see. I think it could be very entertaining as well as being something that is completely educational. I just wish that I had the brains to come up with something like that in my life.

I guess I can see the plot of the movie going along similar lines to Citizen Kane, it's a rags to richest story... although in The Social Network, the kid of Harvard is the one in rags.... but I don't think this movie will have the main character saying, "Rossseeebbuuuddd" in the very beginning. Even moreso, though, Citizen Kane was the start of a whole new style of film making that had never been done before. It was the first movie with shots that actually moved around the set, and had things like wide to medium to closeup... it was ground breaking cinematography, and almost every single movie after it tried to use the same techniques. I kinda doubt that the Social Network will be that... but it does look interesting, and I'm a fan of David Fincher, so, we'll just see how it goes.

That's awesome knowing the history of the man who invented such social networking site. I didn't know it came from an intranet system in harvard. I'd love to see that movie even though i haven't watched citizen kane yet.

Hmmm, actually given that Citizen was one of the movie that hailed by critics as the best movie of all time, I was disappointed when I watched it. It's truly nothing special in it. After watched The Social Network, I can fairly said this is the movie of the decade. It's greatly told us the story of how the social networking has changed our generation. We can connected in a way that people never imagine before, but all those glory about facebook not came in an easy way. I think that sums up the story in this movie
